@armandotorres-iy1cw Military vehicles get expensively maintained. Some parts get replaced after every ride.

Well, the CEO of Oceangate is on board, so presumably he's getting a triple ration of sh*t from everyone else if that's them stuck on the bottom. Given the way all comms & telemetry ended at the same time, however, chances are it was a catastrophic & quick end for all aboard.

@waynesbutler7834 From something I read last night, the US Navy had assets on the way that could do that. Deep diving ROVs with the capacity to attach cables, plus the equipment to pull up heavy things on said cables. The stuff was supposed to be on scene by late Tuesday night local. But, yeah, chances are they're hauling up a whole lot of expensive scrap with some bodies in it. Steel pressure hulls (like the Thresher) get shredded like confetti during an explosive decompression .. no idea what carbon fibre might do.

Governments spend billions (and still make mistakes) learning about the 1,001 deadly things that can go wrong with submarines. This little company was not part of that learning curve.

The passengers signed waivers, apparently, stating that they knew it was an experimental, unlicensed, uncertified craft. If the sub pilot had really good aim, the wreck of the Titan now sits with the Titanic. Like the larger wreck, the Titan too will come to be an example of why safety standards must be mandatory for that type of craft.

@vinceabbott5438 After decades of this, no one has been able to provide even a tiny piece of some manufactured item from another world. (you can get coal from the wreck of the Titanic) No one has been able to provide an undoctored image of one of these vehicles in human settings. Lacking any evidence, this thing is probably just a long-running distraction meme. I'd love to be wrong, but ..

Betcha the club wasn't expecting any new members.

@Ashley - Remember the murder of Apache Rose Hightower? Not only was the perp indicted later, but his associates and some parents were involved in the cover-up too. A bunch of them now doing 20 to life.

Rob Reiner has a long history of crafting works of fiction in cinematic form. Don't be mad just because he's done another one.

It happens on Everest. Darwin tourism.

Tifany Adams is only 33 .. that's what meth does to a person :(

But unfortunately there are a lot of people who Want To Believe (tm) sort of like Fox Mulder for flying saucers, except he actually had much better material to base off. Oh Rob :( Hoping this isn't his gateway drug to 9/11 conspiracies next.

1972 called John Eastman, they want his outfit back. Good god, don't leave the house looking like that.

Pretty sure this isn't the first time they've been involved in people disappearing.

Just like with carbon fiber arrows. They're great for the first few uses, then they go downhill.

@danmoore3660 I did, but apparently it went as far over your head as the m-o-o-n. See the OP's comment and see mind. Could the thread be any more obvious?
1
@danmoore3660 No. The point that the OP made (and then I gave a working example of) is that the stupidity factor is exponentially increased with the size of the cabal. See? You missed the point. From now on, just ask people to use smaller words and shorter sentences when you're having trouble following things. (you probably missed the Tom Cullen reference too)

Supposedly the sub had 7 ways of rescuing itself. Did they all depend on battery power being sufficient?
