  1. Same thing in Oregon. People seem to be thinking that if it's not the lead story in the news, and Netflix is still running, and Whole Foods is still open, this is not a problem. Things far away often look tiny even when they're still coming right at you :(

  2. Sorry to say, but at this point I think we (humanity) are mostly due for the disaster recovery scenario, eventually, since it seems that containment is not working effectively. How will your community function when various vital services have got 20%-50%+ employee absenteeism rates? Fire, police, hospitals, food distribution, stores, etc. You can garner some clues for how humanity responded by reading up on what things were like in various places when the 1918 pandemic was raging.
