That's basically how we did it in the USA for the first few months - you could only get a test if you had the classic COVID symptoms. By glossing over the asymptomatic people (who were deemed not worth expending a test on) the authorities inadvertently caused a vast spread of the disease. Heck of a job, Brownie.

That's maybe why I shouldn't go there. LOL I'd never leave.

Funny you should mention that. The worldometers site glitched the other day .. US cases went up by 41K new cases 6/5 but the "new cases" column didn't reflect the correct numbers. Michigan alone had 4500+ new cases that day, NY state more than 12K. I was refreshing the page and suddenly the column flipped over to happytalk-style numbers, although if you saved them in spreadsheets and subtracted one day from the next you could get the true picture. Where I live (Oregon) has nearly the worst testing rate in the whole country (only Idaho tests less per capita) so with the state unlocking I am not confident about what's happening next.

Are you kidding? They love that stuff. They would happily sniff through a gym full of dirty undies.

If you chart the relationship between the peak attendance at Louisiana's last major super-spreading event (Mardi Gras in New Orleans) then the peak in new daily cases in Louisiana, you'll see they are 40 days apart. We're just coming up now on the 40-day anniversary of the beginning of the anti-lockdown protests in the USA. The numbers may be getting spiky soon.

If you look at the peak attendance for Louisiana's most recent biggest super-spreading event (Mardi Gras in New Orleans) and then at the daily new cases seen per day in Louisiana, you'll see that the peaks are 40 days apart. Right around now we are coming up on the 40-day anniversary of the beginning of all those stay-at-home protests, so I'm not surprised that the numbers are getting awfully spiky just now.

@intelex691 I've got a dear friend who's coming up on 3 months of continuing symptoms. It didn't kill him (it nearly did) but it won't let him go either. And he was super-buff, worked out all the time, etc.
