January. I first heard about this thing on Amy Goodman's program back in December. Started panic buying masks and sanitizer and food by mid-January.

During WW2 families had to endure wondering if their -son was going to come home -brother was going to come home -husband was going to come home.. -rationing food -rationing gas -curfews -if the country was going to get attacked... We lost 405,000 Americans over the course of 4 years to defeat the Germans and Japanese... So far we have lost over 150,000 citizens to Covid 19 over 25 weeks and all we are being asked to do is to -social distance -wear a mask -and wash your hands It's only been 5 months And we can't deal with that!! PATHETIC

Chiming in from Oregon, USA. I would be happy if our authorities here had the stones to immediately mandate masks, everywhere in public, no questions and no exceptions, with heavy fines attached to noncompliance. Some places (like the state of New York) have done that to great success. Bring on the $5000 fines. I'm wearing out a keyboard explaining to fools that them going maskless isn't much different from them wandering around in public emitting sarin gas.

@Phil McKraken Those so affected can just send in someone from their household, or shop online and have it delivered. At this point, shopping doors without a mask on isn't much different from wandering around the store secretly emitting sarin gas just because you feel it's your "freedumb" to do so.

@flowersinherhair Banning protest (at least in the US) would be like banning the Republican National Convention, or a Trump rally. Both are constitutionally protected free speech events. Churches and birthday parties are not. Does that make the difference any more clear to you?

@Phil McKraken There is not a place anywhere that does not do curbside pickup or offer some form of home delivery. Letting people into stores without masks is like giving them free license to kill anyone they encounter in the store.

@Phil McKraken Nowhere did I claim to be God. But if you've been following the news this year, you will know that this disease spreads when people get too close to each other without wearing protective equipment such as masks. You don't have the right (during a raging pandemic) to walk unmasked in a public indoors place anymore than I have the right to inject you with copy machine fluid while you sleep. You apparently do not understand that your freedoms end where another person's begin, and vice versa.

@Phil McKraken So much keyboard clicking and so little brain activity. Look, fool, in just months this thing has killed a sizeable portion of all American combatants who died in WW2. Deny it all you like, but the virus won't care if you believe in it or not. And, clearly, you are not one of the adults.

@Phil McKraken Blanket responsed don't work? On what do you base that ridiculous notion? You may wish to check out the countries of Asia, which have used those measures very successfully. You reach for new heights of folly in your desire to justify not wanting to wear a mask. Poor little you. The keys are clicking, but no one's home.
