That one patient has been at the hotel for a week already feeling unwell .. so everyone departing that hotel for the hotel (since he arrived there) is a potential new vector that will pop up in a few weeks when they return to home and start making new clusters.

@chrisdaniels3929 Given that it can take 24+ days from the beginning of incubation to when someone start displaying symptoms, it is possible that the patient at the hotel has been infecting others for awhile now. Anyone who's left the hotel in the past 7 days; anyone he's been in contact with for maybe the last 14 days; anyone who works at the hotel - all of them are (or have been) potential vectors that will cause their own new clusters, the effects of which will be seen in a couple weeks. Sigh :(

@cowsmart1 This thing is already out of the bag. The one known patient has been feeling unwell for at least a week so he's stayed at the hospital. That means he's been infectious for at least 2-3 weeks prior to that (depending on how fast/slow the onset of symptoms was) and that everyone who's stayed at the hotel or encountered him in that time is now a new potential vector that will crop up in a few weeks after they get home and start making new clusters.

@ Oliver Barstow Correction, it WILL happen unless governments choose to get all of their people out of there ASAP. The Diamond Princess experiment doesn't need to be repeated. We already know that it spreads easily in ships, apartment buildings, prisons, hotels, hospitals, etc anyplace where people are packed close together. For perhaps more than a week now, everyone who's been coming and going from that hotel has been a potential new vector that will pop up someplace else a week or two after they get home.

You could say that, to many people anyway, things that are faraway look very small. Also, many seem to be thinking that because they personally don't have epithantic eye folds, they needn't worry a bit about this. Unbelievable :(
