Where I live (Oregon) vaccination has slowed to a crawl in rural science-denying counties. From the way things look now, some of those places will not achieve sufficient vaccination levels by the time the big fall rise in cases that will follow the changing seasons. And long before then, tourists will have spread the new variants everywhere. I don't see any way out of the rural places suffering horribly (waves of illness, death, possible mutations) all so they can "own the libs".

@MacLuckyPTP Err, you misinterpreted my concern for science-denying rural folk as "panic". On the contrary, I hope to pick up all kinds of stuff on the cheap at their estate sales. Saint Darwin is having a busy year with those idiots.

@MacLuckyPTP Well, it helps to be attached to objective reality. All things being equal, that results in having capital available at your disposal and the senses to detect a bargain. So if those inbred science-denying yahoos want to die off, meh, the IQ of the state will only rise because of it.
