"If we don’t have enough resources for the severely ill then the mortality rate is going to be" - bingo. As the good doctor has communicated, a large portion of the patients ill enough to go to hospital will need oxygen support and/or ventilators. Even in the more affluent countries, there's nowhere near enough hospital beds and oxygen/breathing support equipment to go around. Someone in another thread pointed out that in all of New Mexico there are 3,600 hospital beds, and on any given day 90% of them are already in use.

In poor places, where people live densely and where medical care is inexpensive and/or unavailable, the death rate for this is going to be just awful :(

A really silly question - if Covid-19 is suppressed by warmer weather, why don't those cruise ships head down to near the equator?

A question about how the death numbers in China are counted. By now we have all seen and heard the news of bodies being left outside for collection. Here's the question - do the official death numbers consist only of people who died while under medical care and people who died after testing positive for Covid-19? We can safely assume that China is not wasting test kits on dead people. What would the CFR look like when people found dead at home (or outside the building) are included?

A question about the official death rate. Does that cover only the people who die while under medical care and/or who died after testing positive? If so, the official death rate will be higher, since by now we have all heard the news about large numbers of people dying at home.

@Trikipum .. which is why we're hearing stories about the crematories getting hundreds of bodies per day, yet not all of that traffic is included in the official CFR.
