  1.  Alexander Van Burk  You must have joined the discussion months later than everyone. The mask is designed to keep you from sharing your droplet dispersal with others. When enough people wear masks, infection via droplet transmission is reduced.

  6. Just 2 days ago I was in a certain Oregon coastal town, and stopped at an open restaurant. The waitress assured me that people were being good about masks. In the half hour that I was there, unfortunately, three different parties of 2-4 people wandered in without wearing masks, and no one from the restaurant did anything to correct their behavior.
