  1. The US is having problems right now with the whole concept of mask wearing. Heck, in some places where rural law enforcement doesn't like the political affiliation of the governor, they are selectively not enforcing the laws designed to curb the spread of covid. And some of the weaker-minded citizens consider it an affront to their "freedumbs" to be told to wear a mask -- basically the same people who whine about the seat belt laws that save their lives.
