You have to admit that Dump and his GOP majorities in Congress are doing a fine job showing their constituents that both parties are not the same.

That's something that Russia does .. and now it's something that Putin's apprentice does here :( so sorry :(

Apparently, Rubio's main issue with the Castro regime is that his last name wasn't Castro.

A strongman to the weakling, a genius to the dullard, a celebrity to the unwashed, a hero to the poltroon. That is what he is to them.
19
The person most happy with all of this is comrade Trump's boss: Putin.

Trump's negative opinion is a fine reason to subscribe to the Atlantic. He just complimented them on their journalism.

It's not what he has on them, but what he offers them, or so they think. Nearly every culture on earth has some cautionary fable about a smooth-talking stranger who takes you to a high place and spins fabulous yarns about what could be, then offers you a little piece of it, if only you will do him a favor that usually happens to be illegal or immoral or both. In their shortsighted greed, they have forgotten this important lesson about how to tell if you're dealing with the devil.

@FretnesButke This has been a painful experience, but I too now know how many people around me would have made gleeful Nazis or Quislings if the right malevolent authoritarian came along. I knew we had badly-wired people living among us, just did not realize how many of them there are, or how easily they're sucked into the cult.
8
Apparently it hurts some broligarch's feelings when you say these things.

Mahmoud Khalil was in fact inside the US, and already at Columbia, before the conflict broke out. No way could he have known at the time if he would be protesting eventually.
6
You can tell what he is by his effect on his followers - he consistently brings out the worst in them.
6
You can tell the presence of a cult leader by his effect on the gullible ones.
5
He's already gone. Look at that flat, dead look in his eyes.
4
Cheeto has that effect on people. Kind of tells you exactly what he is.
4
@mylesandeli The portrait wasn't orange enough, apparently.
4
I assume they're used to bringing third parties in on their discussions. Maybe they are coordinating the treats being called in to judges who offend Orangina?
3
Someone should ask Elon how much it would "improve" Tesla if he arbitrarily lays off half of the company, every department, top to bottom.
3
There's a huge gaslighting effort to the effect that Democrats allegedly do nothing but push trans into everything, and that Democrats allegedly have no other legislative activity than pushing trans into everything. Yet if you look through the verbiage of the campaign statements, platforms, as well as all bills introduced, you'll find that the percentage of activity devoted to trans issues is smaller than the percentage of trans people in general society. But people are lazy and don't do homework :(
3
The second role was the only one he ever had. Trump Vodka? Trump Steaks? Trump University? Trump Casino? Truth Social? His transmission has only one gear and it's called "schlocky failure".
2
There was once another group of military officers who didn't want their conversations archived .. who else remembers the Wannsee Conference of 1942 in which some officers discussed a "final solution"?
2
You can also see what he is by the effects on his followers - and he consistently brings out the worst in them.
2
They ought to be the G6 while our ship of fools sails around in circles.

Before he disappears (into a jail cell) he must first face justice.

Apparently, we live in Mayberry, where you can just walz into any sensitive federal facility, bamboozle the security guards, wave a fancy letter around, and be granted access to anything, even if you have no qualifications, don't show any ID, and haven't passed any security checks.
1
.. just like when he denied emergency aid to states and cities that didn't vote for him.
1
Stand back and stand by.
1
All Marco needed to do was look at the pile of F'd and chucked people Trump leaves behind him, people who also saw some gain in associating with him and turned out to be wrong.
1
Not only that, but Haley is distancing herself from Team Crazy, and Team Crazy is looking worse in the public eye every day.
1
And Musk is the one who wants to cancel NASA ..
1
.. while charging a lot for it too.
1
Eh, I've been giving that "Roman" salute to those. Share the love.
1
He's dangerous regardless. When he knows that he won't be able to rule the country, he'll tell his uppity culties to go do bad things.
1
@therock8288 Nowhere in the Constitution does it say that Constitutional rights apply only to US citizens. Those rights apply to people who are here, period.

Here in the US, our political system has barely been modified since inception. Out in the rest of the world, other countries are running more advanced forms of democracy, and they have some important improvements over our early-1800s design. None of that "electoral college" nonsense. Separation of the roles of president and prime minister. Votes of no confidence. Snap elections. Etc. Meanwhile, we're still using the Flintstones era version of democracy, and it's apparently all too easy to hack :(

And it's actually ironic if MAGA thought only blue districts would feel the pain. 70% of the nation's GDP comes from the counties that voted for Biden in 2020. Half the nation's population lives in urban areas of 1million or larger. Prosperous blue states will be fine.
1
Approximately 14% of the US population is immigrant. As of 2019, approx 38 million US citizens (12% of the population) were native-born with at least one immigrant parent.
1
In similar vein, Trump is a politician for people who know nothing about how the real world works.
1
The fictional character Aldo Raines got a few things right .. and one of them is that yachtzees need to have something they can't take off. People need to know which among us mean to harm all of us.
1
The Nazis did start out with concentration camps. Only later did they take up the wholesale unaliving business.
1
@AM-fs1je Yes, and Trump's rehabilitation of the Tate brothers is another such threat. He and Musk rode to office on the approval of young men who want money and girls. Add the Heritage Foundation spin to it and you get something like the Taliban.
