Every day it's like this: Fauci: “Donald, 4000 people have died in the US as of yesterday.” Trump: “I haven’t heard about anyone dying from this. Who ever heard of such a thing?”

Ironically, Mexico may yet build a wall and pay for it themselves. Obviously the USA leads the world in case counts and new cases per day (yesterday alone more than 26K new cases) and is #1 on the descending sort. Mexico has got 12 cases per million people whereas the USA has 742 cases per million. Gotta keep out those dirty foreigners carrying viruses.

What Trump really meant was, on day 1 he might shut down the free press, dissolve both chambers of congress, have the supreme court shot, and maybe the next morning he might decide to remain dictator indefinitely.

How on earth do the people around him manage to keep straight faces when he does his word salad act? Worse, it's not an act.

Trump: I want the churches packed on Easter!! Virus: You bring the body bags, I'll do the rest, just like in Italy ;)

I'm expecting the US to end up with above 7000 cases per 1 million population. Some states still aren't on lockdown (like Georgia, with over 1300 cases); some are holding in-person prayer meetings instead; and domestic air travel still continues, with fleeing NY'ers taking the virus wherever they go. What a clusterfck.

Even worse, in their eyes Clinton had lied about an affair and that was impeachable conduct. Agent Orange already lied about the Stormy Daniels thing, and got caught at it, but Republicans are all fine with that somehow. Here's what Miss Lindsay Graham said about impeachment back in 1999: “You don’t even have to be convicted of a crime to lose your job in this constitutional republic if this body determines that your conduct as a public official is clearly out of bounds in your role. Impeachment is not about punishment. Impeachment is about cleansing the office. Impeachment is about restoring honor and integrity to the office.”

@dlee t Italy had a really good medical system to begin with and locked the place down. We have a shitty medical system. Domestic air travel is still continuing. States like Georgia (with over 1300 cases) still aren't locked down. Fleeing NY'ers are taking the virus home to the hinterland. We're probably going to see more than 3 million cases :(

@ricklawrence2515 ^^ Perfect.

Nice of the fascists to identify themselves so publicly.

Or like Trump referring to a supermodel as "fat" and "gross" when she gets just 5 lbs over her drop-dead weight. Like he should look in a mirror before using those terms.

@fionaanderson5796 I hope not too. But some in the USA apparently believe that economies cannot restart after disasters. They can, they do, they have. I think what the Trumpies mean when they say that is that Trump's presidency might not survive this.

Lashing out is all you can expect from Trump. He does not know what to do with the virus. It does not respond to his threats, empty promises, stupid tweets, insults, border walls, or anything else he could say or do. And those things are the only tools in his tool bag.

@vicpinto1970 This is an impeachment investigation, not an impeachment. Rules are different. The charge that "it's partisan" is like speeding past a cop and then refusing the ticket because s/he is of a different political party. As George W Bush put it - if you have nothing to fear, you have nothing to hide.

The sad part is, Hannity doesn't seem to be aware that Trump remembers every small slight that Hannity ever gave him, and one of the dictatorial things Trump might do is have Hannity shot during his day of retribution .. which will stretch into a week, then a month, then .. you know the rest of the story.

.. because nothing screeches out your innocence in all caps like withholding evidence then retaliating against witnesses.

If, as Trump claims, it's safe to resume normal operations, perhaps he can show it by resuming his rallies. He canceled them back in the first half of March because of the virus danger. It's rather telling that he hasn't scheduled any new rallies, where he could shake hands with normal Americans etc. Is he afraid of some dangerous virus?

Trump has decided that if the jackboot fits, he's going to pull it on and start goose-stepping. Seen that movie before, don't like it.

Trump at 15 cases: Within a couple of days, it'll be close to zero. 9,000 cases: It's a war. I'm a wartime president! 80,000 cases: We're safe. Let's reopen America! 250,000 cases: I'm not responsible! 644,000 cases: I believe the USA has passed the peak in infections. 925,000 cases: Can we look into injecting disinfectant to make it go away?

Perhaps Trump should triple the dose - just to be sure.
