These days North Dakota is showing the potential spread rate of the disease, with (as of yesterday evening) 9.387% of their population having been infected.

Left mostly unchecked (hat tip to Tony Spell and pastors like him, who regularly host super-spreader gatherings) the US virus case count took only a month to go from 400 cases to 400,000 cases. At the same rate it would take another month to reach the whole US population (327 million) but obviously that's been slowed. Err, feel free to archive the daily snapshots from Worldmeters if you need to see the proof of what I'm saying. Put it this way: over the last 7-day span, Alaska went from 182 cases/M to 306 cases/M (68% up). Montana went from 203 to 319 (57% up). South Dakota (not locked down yet, wtf) went from 146 cases/M to 455 cases/M (211% up). There is noplace in America, from country down to county level, that is not showing this pattern. Some places are just faster than other places at spreading it.
