@Sturmtruppler-up4ib Bingo. The worst of the bad endings would have been sinking to the bottom then suffocating in the cold, huddled together. They lost comms and telemetry together; I too believe it was something catastrophic and quick.

@Sturmtruppler-up4ib Everything in the sub would have instantly compressed to 1/400th its previous volume .. and that would have caused great heat. So if it was a catastrophic pressure hull breach, then it was over very very quickly. No time to feel anything.
