  1. The last time Russia was in a serious scrap, they were fighting a retreating enemy who had run out of fuel and equipment spares and who had just suffered an overwhelming attack on another front. Didn't matter then how drunk and disorderly they were then, or how many friendlies they raped. None of that applies in this situation.

  3. There is quite a lot to the economics of war. Russia is in the process of learning that the west can make and field various missiles/drones in large quantities, and at lower prices, than Putler can afford to make ground and air vehicles.
