As of April 1, the CFR was 2.37% for the USA going by worldometers data. As of last night it was up to 5.54% (same source). ALso as of last night, it ranged from Michigan at 8.19% down to 0.46% for South Dakota - and that will change once the large number of new cases spend more time in hospital.

@guillermorobledo2842 Bingo. The title of the page is even "case fatality rate" to make it more obvious to people that it's a now-common term for denoting how generally fatal an infectious disease is. Refer to the original post in this thread (the one you disputed in a comment) for what we're all talking about. Even if no new cases emerged after today, the CFR would continue to go up as some of the people now infected will die.

On the plus side, vacation homes in Georgia will be had cheaply after this is all over. And Georgia will get more blue with the newcomers moving there afterwards.
