  1. Not single handedly. He's enjoyed a whole lot of help from the Republican party, from top to bottom. They've had three years to be relevant. Three years to make their party a foil on an insane despot of a president. To hold him accountable when he ran off the rails, to shake their heads sagely when he tweeted some illogical falsehood on twitter. Instead, they embraced his madness for profits and votes, looked the other way when implied or overt racism emerged, and chuckled at efforts to thwart his agenda. This egg is on all of their faces and there is plenty to go around.
