Nothing proclaims innocence like bragging to the world that you're holding all the incriminating evidence against yourself. He just can't help himself :( Oh and FYI in case it's not obvious, he's going to be reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally insufferable if Moscow Mitch succeeds in getting him off scot-free. If you're a member of a visible minority, that would be a good time to go underground, because you can bet his MAGA hatters will be out there committing all kinds of bias crimes.

I take comfort in knowing that in the 1974 election (the first one to follow Nixon's near-impeachment) every single Republican who'd tried to cover up Nixon's obvious guilt got voted out of office. EVERY SINGLE ONE. People, you know what to do.

I like to think of Tяump as a sort of stress test that so far America is failing. Confronted with the president's obvious guilt, the 53 Republican senators (America's most senior politicians) choose to throw the rule of law under the bus rather than risk being on the receiving end of a nasty tweet from the Incredible Sulk. America is now in the place where democracies go to die :(

@pclay5022 From some of the test balloons the Republicans have floated this past week, it sounds as if they are preparing to not accept the 2020 election results, and dismiss them somehow on the grounds that the "illegal" impeachment unfairly tainted the election results. After that, it's anyone's guess as to how long Trump's thousand-year reich will actually last.

@pclay5022 Well, if the Repubs are in charge and only they get to say which laws are followed and who does/doesn't have to follow them .. well .. you can guess what's next. Minorities better go underground or flee. The wealth divide will grow much worse very quickly. Things will devolve into a 2-tier system, like in Mexico, with the rich living in gated fortified private communities and everyone else in slums. Needless to say, law enforcement will get very hard very quickly too, since by then it will finally be obvious that a coup has happened and we've no longer got a working democracy. Interesting times basically :(

Funny how Clinton's impeachment trial lasted a month, with no limits on witnesses and documents, all for a BJ and a stained dress. But when a president is violating the Impoundment Control Act, extorting another nation into interfering with our elections, covering it up, then obstructing the investigation, they want no witnesses/evidence and a speedy coverup. That's not very American of them :(

Funny you should mention that .. the Supreme Corp is arguing the notion of "faithless electors" presently.

@pclay5022 If you want a hint of things to come for #3 (see above) .. just consider that the most likely reason the US is so against Huawei technologies that Huawei (unlike IBM, Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, Netflix, Fakebook, you name it) did not build the US government any top-level backdoors into everything. I trust you can figure out the rest.

@pclay5022 For those of us not on Fakebook/Wastebook, is that content available elsewhere? TIA
