Joshua L It is and I agree it looks better while also being about €15,000 cheaper which is a significant amount. However, when it's a little cold outside and unless you have great tyres it's struggling to put the power down. It's moments like those that I wish I had 4WD.

Holy shit that RS6 is fast!
1
OK, 1. Ascari is so amazing 2. We haven't seen the final car yet but I think I'd take this over the Huracan every single time. If they drive the same, the more grown up approach fits an Audi better and I think this will look nicer than the Lambo. 3. The noise!
1
TEH KOTAK They do actually. A selected few.
1
f2b.....f20bEG Although that was a fishy lap time :p Indeed the Focus is some 200kgs heavier but we're still talking about a 4WD car which according to possibly everyone is the best hot hatch right now. But even if it wasn't, traction is a real issue with FWD hot hatches so if with the same amount of money you can get a 4WD one you should do it. It's the better choice objectively. Now if someone just doesn't like the Focus or loves Honda and knowingly goes for something less usable, good for him.
1
VisioRacer That's true but Steve announced the Euro price first and then converted it to GBP so maybe the Euro price is more or less set.
1
5shujin-sama Well, yes because it's an Audi. It has better quality and better image. It's still too much money for what it is - especially since with less than half of it you can buy a great hot hatch - but we're used to Audis being expensive. Peugeots however...
1
***** I think you got confused somewhere. I never said what you think I said. I agree with you but the GT-R and the Japanese rally replicas could get away with low perceived quality because they were offering very special mechanical bits. One can claim this 308 does the same but it's not to the degree those other cars did. Not to my eyes at least. When you can buy a Cayman S or GTS with that money, why buy a 308? If you want to buy a hot hatch, why prefer this over the Focus RS?
1
***** Seriously? When did the Golf R cost €80,000? Same with the Focus.
1
Alex The thing is though, when someone can spend so much money for a car they're looking for something more than a good drive. If you only care about that you can find it in much, much cheaper cars. I don't think it's about the badge. It has more to do with the sophistication. I also don't think someone who can spend that amount cares about running costs. It certainly feels good having a quick car for a fraction of what other cars of similar pace cost but that doesn't mean you wouldn't buy the expensive one if you could. I drive a Leon Cupra 280 but if I could afford a Cayman S (which is quicker but not by much) I'd definitely buy it.
1
Alex I don't think I'm the one who doesn't know this world. There is no set way people with money spend that money. Some waste it in stupid things, some spend it the way they want without wasting it and some don't even spend it. You make almost 3000 euros per month and you drive a DS3. The only thing that shows is that you don't care about cars which makes me wonder what you're doing here.
1
Alex The DS3 is a very good car indeed but it's not even in the same segment as the 1, the A3, the A and the Golf. It's in the segment of the A1 and the Polo. Why didn't you buy a small hot hatch like the 208 GTi for example?
1
Alex You're wrong about the Porsche. They're the best sportcars exactly because they're usable every day. That's what they're famous for.
1
Alex In theory no you're correct.
1
***** What's 40,000 quid?
1
***** Didn't the video say 80k euros? That's about 60k GBP.
1
***** That's pretty good then!
1
When I hopefully go on the market for a hot hatch it'll come between this and the Astra OPC. Astra is much prettier but possibly a little worse to drive and is much more expensive.
1
Great stuff!
1
The headlight surrounds still don't work for me. I wonder how it'd look if they were coloured like the body. It may be better.
1
+Alexandre Fernandes I bet it's the Zenos.
1
Mladen Milić Which A6 does he have? The latest model is massively better inside than the Superb. Maybe this is as good inside as an A6 from 2 generations back.
1
***** 1 second cannot simply be down to conditions. It's a big difference.
1
***** Maybe you're right. For what's worth it though the Bentayga was about 0.5 slower to 62 than its factory number not 1. So the journos did something better there.
1
Stunning cars both of them. For different reasons though
1
V10s are the best engines ever.
1
Great, beautiful car. Thankfully there's BBR for those that want more power. If I got one I'd definitely go that route.
1
***** UK-based quality tuning company. They've said they can get 200 hp from the 2.0 litre without turbocharging it.
1
xEv0ILuTioN Maybe, I haven't seen any numbers. Even if it is though the difference should be marginal.
1
xEv0ILuTioN Where have you seen that? Based on this I'm seeing something else. http://fastestlaps.com/models/vw-gti-clubsport-s http://fastestlaps.com/models/vw-golf-r-mk-vii The 100-200 difference is 1.2 (which is certainly respectable) but from 0-200 the R is slightly quicker. Similar story with the 1/4 mile.
1
The 911's driver clearly went a bit earlier. Not that it really matters but you know, when you drag race two cars do it properly.
1
NikoBell12 Yeah OK it doesn't look great but it is better than the E and the A6.
1
David Rotaru I do as well but given the choice I'd get the new one.
1
David Rotaru Oh I prefer the R8 to the Huracan. I really, really don't like what they've done with the design.
1
G9 Music It's not slower in 0-60. As the speed increases it is but it's obvious the driver had a terrible launch. There are videos of proper launches where it's incredibly quick.
1
G9 Music With that I agree.
1
What a great car.
1
Vaas MEDICUS Yes, they are and although Mazda doesn't make the most desirable cars right now, they've made some great ones in the past and the MX-5 is one of them. Now imagine a RWD Alfa roadster with a small turbocharged engine. It would be amazing! I only hope they won't decide making it a FIAT.
1
Heine Pedersen Maybe but obviously we compare what we have now. Also, the 4C has a different character compared to the Cayman. I don't think that will change any time soon.
1
***** And why is that?
1
Best thing about the video was the CBR's noise. Pretty pointless other than that
1
southbeach09 You can't expect your Aventador to be as agile as the 458. It's a little heavier and the 458's steering makes it incredibly agile. I think that makes the biggest difference in fact.
1
Ah good-old fuel!
1
+Kings mario Oh for fuck's sake watch the whole video
1
Horrible, horrible driving.
1
The MK III RX-7 was such a beast. Strictly for competent drivers.
1
haha this was funny!
1
Very impressive. I'm also starting to like the looks. Mature with great details.
1
Love it!
1
I don't know which Contis the R8 had but the 5Ps of the NSX are really not good enough for such a quick car. The 911's P Zeros are far superior.
