  2. Freeworld Jackson I think Conor is even more powerful though. Of course he's not shit. He's fighting in the UFC after all. But I really don't think he's anywhere near Conor's level. I may be wrong but again, look at the guys each of them has beaten.

  3. vickmackey24 I'm afraid you're looking at the wrong things or even worse, you're not seeing anything. I don't know him personally so I'm judging by what's out there. Just an example. Look at what he did at the beginning of the 1st episode of embedded. It was amazing. Look at the things he says in interviews and the way he speaks. In serious interviews. You don't find him funny and that's fine (I even agree to an extend) but saying someone isn't funny is very different than saying he isn't a great guy or an inspiration. Anderson embodies the spirit of a true martial artist. The way of thinking, the respect etc. He has that aura of a very special athlete and man. Very few of them have that. That's why I said he's a real champion. You don't need to have the belt to be that.

  4. vickmackey24 I see what you mean and again, I agree to a certain extend but not entirely. You see, like all of us, Anderson keeps growing. He has made mistakes and I think he knows that. But it's not black and white. First of all, all top sportsmen need to have incredible self confidence. Otherwise they won't succeed. Sometimes that passes off like arrogance but I must admit I never thought of Anderson as being arrogant. Just very confident. Regarding his behaviour in the octagon, it is strategy and only strategy. If we take his first fight with Weidman as an example, he was very respectful before that. We see it with Diaz as well. Anderson mocks his opponents in order to break them mentally and it has worked almost every single time. If it does why change it? It didn't work with Weidman obviously so maybe tonight we see something different. I don't agree there's nothing special with Anderson as a man. Not everyone can reach an extremely high level at what they do, stick to it for years and deal with being a superstar successfully. It's extremely difficult and you need to be special to achieve that. I've been watching UFC for about 5,5 years.

  6. Connor Bruce Conor is a character! He talks a lot of shit but we all know why he does it. And he's incredibly funny. I don't think he's a bad guy or a dick or anything like that. He shows that character when he's around a camera or a microphone because he understands how the fight game is played.

  15. I agree with all that. But Hendo has excellent timing and accuracy as well. In other words, Lyoto is fighting one of the best in the sport and Hendo is fighting one of the best in the sport. None of the two can be underestimated and that's exactly why I said it'll be a strong candidate for fight of the year.

  16. Rua ran out of gas as well. That's what happens when two top fighters push the pace. You have the right to support whoever you want but the fact Jones beat Rua who hadn't fought for over a year and looked horrible that night doesn't mean that he can beat whoever else Rua has fought with. Remember how good he was when he fought Lyoto 3 years back? Sadly he isn't as good as that now and he is 11 years younger than Hendo! The things Dan can do at this age are just mind-blowing.

  19. Then why did he decline the fight? If he is so confident in his abilities he should have nothing to worry about. I think he would beat Sonnen but declining shows something. He even said he doesn't want to fight Lyoto supposedly because it's not big profit-wise but I think it has to do more with the fact Lyoto was winning before that choke and he knows just how good he is.

What I meant by saying it doesn't apply to me is that I'm not racist so I don't see it the way others may be seeing it. Also, the fact many fans are idiots and may be racist doesn't mean the whole of UFC is. It's ridiculous to say that. So, before blowing up and start being disrespectful, take some time to clear up what the other person meant.

He has been in there with the best, he has always fought his arse off and he surely isn't afraid of anyone as he has proved numerous times. A title fight is very important so obviously he wanted to be in his best as did Lyoto who also declined that fight. I'm sick of MMA "fans" who keep saying a fighter is afraid. Their job description alone negates that.
