Then why did he decline the fight? If he is so confident in his abilities he should have nothing to worry about. I think he would beat Sonnen but declining shows something. He even said he doesn't want to fight Lyoto supposedly because it's not big profit-wise but I think it has to do more with the fact Lyoto was winning before that choke and he knows just how good he is.

Jones has something to gain. Respect from so many people for helping save an event. Exactly the opposite that is from what actually happened. Jones' popularity before today was already bad. First the DUI, then saying fighting Lyoto isn't profitable for him and then the whole thing about going up to Heavyweight (possibly in order to not fight Lyoto). So yeah, agreeing to fight Sonnen would have helped him a lot but now we can all see who he really is.
