I am also chronically ill and constantly having to correct nurses and doctors, it is astounding how little attention is sometimes paid to us. You have to understand: Capitalism is ruining medical care. Best you got out when you did. We need serious reform.

  9.  @RobertJarecki I mean I had a kid leash, I needed it. I was born in 1991. I would just bolt. 🤷🏻 I’m autistic and it turns out it’s a common thing in autistic kids and it is called eloping. I actually still to this day get the urges, I just can find my way back now, or if it really isn’t convenient to I can just force myself not to and stim to distract myself. Kid leashes aren’t cruel. In 2024 preschools do “toddler trains”.

  13. You shouldn’t feel shameful for it. It’s kind of ridiculous something as common as low iron is rejected. So many medical conditions inevitably lead to low iron anyway. Wanna know irony? Red Criss finally lifted their blood ban so I could be able to donate blood without either misgendering myself or just being denied and now I’m anemic LOL. I’m not meant to donate blood.

And if I didn’t agree to tests the doctor would say I declined further treatment (in a way that was worded to make it seem like I the patient didn’t take my health that seriously because I “chose” not to pursue further testing). I went broke learning I had fibromyalgia; a diagnosis by elimination.

  24.  @Bobbypinker  I write a LOT of lists and sometimes the list consists of just thinking of what I needed to get done and crossing off that I did, only to realize everything I’ve written I have also crossed off so the list can now be tossed. It helps my adhd keep track of life. There’s really know way to know what he wrote or why he wrote it definitively and there’s dozens of scenarios possible as to why.

In fact I would argue there would be less unethical scientific practices if due to your research being unethical/horrific your name was completely scrubbed from it and you couldn’t become famous from it.

  57. I’m a vet tech and cancer patients, liver failure patients, and kidney failure patients each have their own distinct “smell”. Often this gets called old dog/cat smell by most but each of these smells for me is distinct and not age related, it’s just a coincidence because often old pets have one of these diseases. But when a young one has it it’s noticeable too, and an old pet without illness smells normal to me.
