Once worked with an employer who would not hire non-whites because she said that if they performed their job poorly and she ended up having to fire them at any point that they would claim it was because they were a POC. It never occurred to her the very fact that she just didn’t hire them in the first place was proving this hypothetical situation. Also even her admitting this to me it’s not like I had written proof or evidence of her for instance making up reasons to not hire a young black girl that seemed “reasonable”. She told her she didn’t think she was qualified enough and had a piercing that was against policy (there was no piercing policy and lots of us had piercings).
