  1. I’m glad my lazy method isn’t actually too terrible. I sprinkle most of my seeds directly onto the soil, then sprinkle some dirt…done. I mostly grow flowers and herbs but hope some day to have the space to grow veggies and fruit! Also, my Hens and Chicks Oddity specimen has so far survived TWO harsh Kansas winters (both with multiple hard freezes below zero) and I swear it was the thick layer of mulch I gave it when Fall came to prepare. Helps that he’s HUGE too. My other Hens and Chicks have never survived winter yet, they are always smaller tho.
