You cannot ethically isolate a child from normal development though. That’s why these types of experiments are no longer done.

@MrEvan312 Jokes come in a wide variety! For instance I will never find jokes wives or husbands make about their SO of the opposite gender being incompetent to be funny. I’m autistic and queer and since I refuse to be in relationships with someone who’s incompetent, and I don’t see genders as so narrow minded, I simply can’t relate to the joke. The autism impacts my figuring out it was a joke in time to fake a “polite laugh”. So I end up not laughing . You win some you lose some! :) I also think slapstick is unfunny, but back in the day that seems to slay.

@jonslg240 The harm is a violation of bodily autonomy and financial consent. They sent a mass they found out for testing without getting permission from the patient/informing them of something found, and also without consent to how much it would cost…

@pbonfanti Actually children of divorce do better in future relationships than children of parents who “stayed for the kids”. (I am not comparing this to children of two parents together who love each other, I am talking the same exact energy as a household that becomes divorced). When they stay “for the kids” it teaches children that screaming, hurting each other, manipulation, hating each other is normal acts of love. Due to this, they can end up easily in abusive or unhappy relationships. Divorce can be traumatizing, but it isn’t the same as continuing to be traumatized and brainwashed until you’re an adult yourself. Divorce teaches a child to leave a relationship that makes them unhappy or isn’t compatible. It teaches choice and free will.

I’m a vegetarian. Fish is meat lol. If your fish bill is rising because you’re not caring for other meats you aren’t really going vegetarian in the least. And nothing wrong with that! Enjoy.

@struckkk1999 We actually did nothing for cats though! Cats in three different areas of the world domesticated themselves because they thought humans were neat, useful, and safe. ❤ And we have only influenced them in pretty small ways since then. They’re far more wild than dogs and yet so perfectly suited to our lives.

@AshJae By acting like they aren’t real people you minimize the plight of victims. It’s similar to responding to someone with a horrible mother as saying that’s not what “real mothers” do. The fact is, anyone can abuse.

@Alkis05 Actually a responsible parent does their research beforehand and continues to learn better parenting while they raise their child. That’s actually the bare minimum. Anyone who doesn’t do this shouldn’t have been a parent in the first place. Hope that helps! No one is a good parent just by being a good parent or doing the bare fucking minimum btw.

@frozen6787 Dogs and cats can learn to organize words into patterns to communicate. Look up fluent pet. A ton of research is being done on this every day currently and it’s fascinating. I have speech buttons that one of my two cats actively chooses to use. (The other is simpler in his desires and just calls for me when shows me what he wants lol)
