'Values' is acting in a way that does not damage the important things in life.

It's not just Facebook that lied about Turkey 'joining' the EU - this is what Wikipedia is saying: "Turkey is negotiating its accession to the European Union (EU) as a member state, following its application accede to the European Economic Community, the predecessor of the EU, on 14 April 1987.[4] After the ten founding members, Turkey was one of the first countries to become a member of the Council of Europe in 1949. The country was also an associate member of the Western European Union from 1992 to its end in 2011. Turkey signed a Customs Union agreement with the EU in 1995 and was officially recognised as a candidate for full membership on 12 December 1999, at the Helsinki summit of the European Council. Negotiations for full membership were started on 3 October 2005.[5] Progress was slow, and out of the 35 Chapters necessary to complete the accession process only 16 had been opened and one had been closed by May 2016.[6] The early 2016 refugee deal between Turkey and the European Union was intended to accelerate negotiations after previous stagnation and allow visa-free travel through Europe for Turks.[7]"... It seems these things did not really happen and only the Guardian is telling the truth - that Turkey is not in the process of joining the EU.

Trump has nothing to do with Brexit. The connection is made by Remain media because Trump is not liked by a majority in the UK. Far weaker economies than the UK do not take orders from other countries. Australia is an example of a country where politicians have one objective - to make the lives of the people that pay their wages better. We need politicians that work in the best interests of the people of the UK. The Remoaner fly has ceased buzzing - stop wriggling its legs in the air - it looks pathetic.

Shenruss The sources you 'site' might be as erroneous as your spelling.

@californiadreamin8423 I wonder what the result would have been had pro-EU MPs not been able to spend £10m of voters' money on a pro-EU government leaflet? I wonder what the result would have been had pro-EU MPs not been allowed to suspend campaigning to present a media spectacle exploiting the murder of a pro-EU MP? I wonder what the result would have been had pro-EU MPs not been allowed to extend the voter registration time limit? I wonder what the result would have been if pro-EU MPs had been prevented from making false claims about the economy and the need for an 'emergency budget'? I wonder why pro-EU SNP has made no complaint about media bias in the 2016 referendum when it made hundreds of complaints about media bias in the 2014 referendum?

Shenruss I think if you read again your last comment you'll see that you are the one 'arguing semantics' and rather desperately so.

So, 'democracy is broken' because Remoaners didn't win... This talk is bollocks!

Look up the meaning of the word 'religion' in a dictionary ;o)
1
Why do you think information a problem in a democracy?
1
Well, 'fast one' I just copied this from the Oxford English dictionary. Religion: a pursuit or interest followed with great devotion: consumerism is the new religion
1
You have had the dictionary definition that proves the word 'religion' can be applied to a secular context. Now instead of making a fool out of yourself, learn a lesson and increase your knowledge.

@californiadreamin8423 He's the one you blame - the pro-EU guy that let the rest of you down by asking the people what they really wanted...
1
@californiadreamin8423 Well, I think you will agree that Remain was seen as being the safest option. This would suggest most of those in 'two-minds' would have voted Remain. You Remoaners appear to demonstrate sociopathic behaviour in wanting everything your way. This Ted Talk is duplicitous sophistry - complaining about 'lies' that are in reality 'truths'. The EU does not 'fund' anything in the UK and never has - the UK has always funded the EU. Turkey is in the process of 'joining the EU only a liar would claim otherwise. The only significant campaign overspend was the £9m pro-EU government leaflet. Which stated the UK would 'not join the euro'. Did this mean never or like Turkey's application not in the 'next few years'?

@californiadreamin8423 Show me the evidence the people of the UK ever wanted to be part of a 'united states of Europe'... You cannot because there is none. The evidence shows this has been a sneaky imposition by a political elite that had no right to hand UK sovereignty to foreigners. There was ample opportunity for both sides to make their arguments and to oppose the arguments of the other side. In the end, the people voted for what they wanted and the majority won - this is how democracy works.
1
@californiadreamin8423 The main fraud was to corrupt the vote by spending £10m pounds of voter's money telling voters how to vote and then not implementing the voter's decision. 'Democracy' is about every vote being equal and the majority making decisions. What specific 'fraud' are you referring to and how many votes do you say were changed because of it? How do you know the reasons why each voter voted the way they did? If you have such mental abilities, why do we go to all the expense and bother of holding elections, when it would be far less costly and much simpler to ask you for the result?
1
@californiadreamin8423 If we get an extremest PM it will be because more moderate MPs would not accept the referendum result. Had all MPs agreed to honour the result there would have been no 2017 GE and Corbyn would be preparing for government...

@californiadreamin8423 Don't those see into the future? I'm just saying what might have been different now. You know - like: if you had looked up 'clairvoyant' before posting your comment you wouldn't look so stupid.
1
@californiadreamin8423 "It will" was contingent on the conditional clause of "if we get" which pertained to the supposition (introduced by you) to a defined future event. So you see, it's you who is guilty of clairvoyance. As I have already pointed out, it is typical sociopathic behaviour to falsely accuse others of your own transgressions.
1
@californiadreamin8423 You're actually correct about me 'nodding off' as I have just got back from six weeks on the Gold Coast and I'm a tad jet-lagged. They have 10% sales tax (not 20%) and wages are higher and food/clothes/petrol/other stuff much cheaper... This is what can happen when politicians work for their own county and for the people that pay their wages.

@californiadreamin8423 How's the campaign for a people's vote going?

I have not said that not believing in a god is a religion – so I don’t have to explain. You have said that not believing in a god or atheism cannot be described as being a religion. You were you were claiming that another commenter’s use of the word was wrong. I knew what he meant - just as you and I both understood that you were referring to the operation of a vehicle. You knew what the other commenter meant, but were attempting to be intellectually superior. That hasn't worked has it?

Why have the torso on the first wetsuit looking more like a seal?

Ted Talk is not suitable for political themes, because there is no opportunity to correct information or question conclusion, so it becomes a useful outlet for political propaganda.

Remoaners appear to demonstrate sociopathic behaviour in wanting everything their way. This Ted Talk is duplicitous sophistry - telling lies and complaining about 'lies' that are in reality truths. The EU does not 'fund' anything in the UK and never has - the UK has always funded the EU double what it has gotten back. Turkey is in the process of 'joining the EU and it is a lie to claim otherwise. The only significant campaign overspend was the (not mentioned) £9m pro-EU government leaflet, which stated the UK would 'not join the euro'. Did this mean 'never' or like Turkey's EU application not in fruition in the 'next few years'?

The EU gives EU voters less democratic power. It's like having one TV, 27 people and an overseer - there's not much chance a majority will agree on which channel to watch and if 14 people were to agree to watch something, 13 people would be unhappy. In reality, because the 27 people don't know each other, live far apart and do not communicate, the TV channel always gets decided by the overseer. 😈🍿📺

You stated that not believing in a god (or atheism) cannot be described as being a religion. I suggested you look up the word ‘religion’ – you said you already did. I referenced a dictionary definition that showed how the word ‘religion’ can be used to describe a belief or following of something that does not entail the belief in a god. It’s not up for debate it’s just the way it is - like a person could be ‘driving’ nails into a tree and not even have a car.
