oops! sad loser convention - I'm out of here...

In 2016, people did not/could not understand the economic arguments surrounding Brexit and even experts provided differing opinions on how leaving the EU would impact the UK economy; both in the short and long term. In reality, the size of the economy is not uppermost in most people's minds, also evidence shows working class people can live happy and fulfilled lives in relatively poor countries. What every person did understand, is the concept of 'EU citizenship' and 'EU governance' and the question on the ballot paper pertained to this much more than: 'GDP' 'exports' 'tariffs' 'trade deals' or any other matter. So, every voter must have known that, voting Leave would mean renouncing their EU citizenship and repulsing the EU's political control over their country and their life. That, every Leave voter did not want to be an EU citizen is a certainty. Whether every Remain voter wanted to be an EU citizen, or had voted for the UK to stay in the EU over other concerns is far less certain.

The UK has been represented by pro-EU activists. 80% of UK MPs are life-long pro-EU activists. Brexit has been like following the 1975 referendum with a UK parliament comprising 80% Enoch Powell/Tony Benn and 20% Ted Heath/Roy Jenkins. We would not have joined or even had the 1975 referendum. Also, UK inflation skyrocketed in the years after joining the EEC.

@maartenaalsmeer The UK does not 'talk about Brexit' there is a minority of influential UK people complaining about Brexit, but most UK people are not interested in Brexit or the EU. I would say, 70% of UK people never think about the EU. Of the 30% that do think about the EU a majority is in favour of Brexit. The UK cannot even apply to rejoin without referendum consent of the UK people and no UK political party is going to attempt that impossible hurdle. In a nutshell, there are 10 persuasive reasons not to rejoin the EU and not a single persuasive reason to rejoin the EU.

@glashalffull The UK will not be asking to join the EU - so you can forget your conditions.

@glashalffull Have you ever considered being a contestant on BBC Mastermind? Your specialist subject could be the 'bleeding obvious'.

@jcvastgoed1490 So, now the EU is in charge of being dumped?

@alexperriman9298 If you mean 'life the UK has got harder for ordinary people' - well, the independent data shows this is the case for all EU countries and that when compared, the UK is actually cheaper for food 'cost-of-living' than many EU countries. So, independent data shows that, if anything, Brexit has actually helped allay cost-of living problems caused by obviously extraneous factors. If you mean 'life in the UK for ordinary people somehow improved when the UK was an EEC/EU member' well, any UK 60 year old will tell you that, a single unskilled wage (prior to the introduction on in-work benefits) used to keep a family and even buy a home. So much for 'life in the EU'...

@alexperriman9298 Is this amazing healthcare free in Germany or do you have to pay for insurance? It's just that in the UK it's all entirely free - no insurance needed.

@alexperriman9298 The number one Brexit benefit for me is the UK parliament being 100% responsible for UK affairs. No UK MPs blaming Brussels and no EU officials interfering in the UK government. I personally, don't like politicians and want fewer of them not more.

Oh! Yet another stupid analogy attempting to show how clever the EU is in a pretend world.
