  1. The UK did not make ' spending commitments' the EU made spending commitments. The UK does not owe the EU any money. This is just EU scaremongering to get UK electorate to vote against hard Brexit government.

  2. If the EU wishes to honour its commitments it can ask EU members to contribute sufficient to do so. The UK has not been a position to impose spending commitments on the EU 27 and even if it had, the EU 27 would now be in a position to cancel those commitments it had opposed. The real 'facts' are that the UK has put a lot more money into the EU project than it has ever received and this should not be disregarded.
