  7. The idea of people being born to position of head of state might seem absurd, but the UK has operated this way for centuries and has been a good influence on the world. Where is the evidence that politicians would do better? Even if we discount despot politicians like Mussolini, Stalin and Hitler, in functioning democracies politicians always hold opinions alienating those who do not share those opinions. Queen Elizabeth was above politics and her pre-eminence made her incorruptible. She was there for every person she represented. King Charles will be the same.

People are grieving and find it difficult to immediately transfer their loyalty for the previous monarch. The State Funeral with crown atop the coffin and Coronation are very meaningful ceremonies.

  19. I think the problem at the root of this is Harry is emotionally immature and really believes the blood in his veins makes him better than ordinary people. He's thick, conceited and entitled. He doesn't understand the Royal Family is an institution with an established role in the British government and other country's governments. And that, members of the Royal Family are born with privilege and a responsibility to many millions of decent people who have to struggle just to survive. It's been said already, but the truth is he's always wanted all the privilege and none of the responsibility. Harry really needed an intelligent wife with a genuine desire to understand and care about other people. A woman like this could have helped Harry live a happy fulfilling life. Unfortunately, the wrong person came into Harry's life and together they are busy destroying each other's lives.

Last time German tanks rolled into West Ukraine they were welcomed by Western Ukrainians who then assisted in the cold-blooded murder of tens of thousands of non-combatant men women and children. The West (USA) believed giving modern arms and inflicting heavy losses on Russia would bring about regime change. This has not happened and Russia is doing much better than expected. The West's excuse will be: 'Our strategy was working, but the brave Ukrainians were not able to use the world's most advanced tanks.'

  24. I'm not taking sides, I just don't like unnecessary war. Ukraine is obviously divided and there has been civil war since 2014. It makes sense to allow the people in the East to vote on independence from Ukraine. Ukraine is more than double the size of my country (UK) and in the UK we believe regions like Northern Ireland can choose independence from UK by democracy.

  25. My understanding (based on news coverage) is Harry must prove the defendant used illegal means to obtain at least one news story about him. A case where it might be proved all the claimants have suffered loss from the defendant's actions or lack of actions, would be different. The 'joint action' in this case is to minimise court time/costs and everyone's legal costs. The defendant has already made payments for obtaining information by illegal means in other court cases to other individuals.

There were referendums in these areas in 2014 and 2022, but these were not organised by the government in Kiev or the results recognised as being legitimate by the government in Kiev or 'The West'. However, nobody argues a majority exists in those areas for Ukraine.
