  3. I'm not taking sides, I just don't like unnecessary war. Ukraine is obviously divided and there has been civil war since 2014. It makes sense to allow the people in the East to vote on independence from Ukraine. Ukraine is more than double the size of my country (UK) and in the UK we believe regions like Northern Ireland can choose independence from UK by democracy.

The vote was not regognised by the USA and EU and Ukraine law states any referendum must include all Ukraine voters - so democracy denied. Ask Joe Biden if the GFA should state all of the UK gets to vote in any Northern Ireland independence referendum...

  16. I remember when Jeremy Vine took over from Jimmy Young. I'd really liked Jimmy Young, particularly as he would sucker punch any politician, so I wasn't very happy he was no longer on my daily radio. There was a caller to the show who used the word 'flammable' and when he'd gone Jeremy Vines starts denigrating him: 'Oh dear, it's 'inflammable' not 'flammable' - dear, dear, dear! What an ignorant fool! What is the world coming to? Bla-bla-bla! Aren't I a clever radio host? Bla -bla bla!' I remember thinking, is this really important and out of interest I looked it up in my dictionary - turned out both words have the same meaning and either word was perfectly acceptable. This is when I realised Jeremy Vine was one of these types who wrongly think they know everything and are way more intelligent than 'ordinary people' who actually know more than they do.

The UK people never asked for or wanted to be part of a 'united states of Europe' so we just had to get to a 'point of no return' - put paid to a small village sized group of people giving our country away.   45.  @martingoldfreed2627  It's no longer about 'Brexit' because the majority of people don't care whether the UK is in the EU. The pro-EU strategists attempted to make it all about Brexit by pointing a Brexit finger at people like JRM to get a second referendum, but many Labour voters still wanted Brexit. Just because 48% voted for a life in the EU doesn't mean 48% now want a life in the EU. That 48% has subdivided into 20% rejoiners and 28% rebrainers. I would guess the country is 30% really want out, 20% really want in and 50% couldn't care less. Because we left with a referendum, we would have to re-join with a referendum and that means the 20% convincing 3/5 of the 50% and that is never going to happen.
