Australia doesn't allow people with dual citizenship to sit in its parliament.

The Southern Irish people are going to end up wishing they'd stayed together with the UK. The only solution for Ireland now is for both islands to cut off from the EU and enforce a sensible immigration policy. Unfortunately, many Irish people have an innate hatred for the English which has been allowed to steer Irish politics.

By my calculations we each have over 4 million 20xGreat Grandparents who were living in the 13th century...

Actually, there is no difference. If you tolerate behaviour you do not like - you are in effect promoting what you do not like.

The plan has always been to fill the UK with people happy to vote for the end of the UK. They knew a 'final' referendum would have to be won, so they prepared for it. As the 2016 votes were being counted they were openly talking about the cities overtaking the rural vote. They wanted the immigrant communities to end the UK and those who had voted for UK sovereignty to be dispossessed of their country. Now, they know they face another referendum, so they are opening the floodgates...

I wonder if Dublin will give us £500 million to 'stop' them crossing the Irish Sea?

@candy-le4nh Most people in the English speaking world refer to 'Southern Ireland' and 'Northern Ireland' - some people might not like it, but that doesn't change it.
2
@candy-le4nh You ask what I refer to and devote your time arguing - so I think you must know what I refer to.

@patricka.crawley6572 It was a bit like being a thief - OK until you stole something.

When looking back through history it's vital to remove ourselves from the present and to attempt to see things as they actually were at the time. The British officer responsible for this incident was heavily criticised - some argued the killings had been necessary to prevent rebellion and many more deaths. Only he was standing in his shoes, but most believe his actions excessive and something we Brits should be ashamed of. I personally believe, that though it is possible to find instances to show the British Empire as being cruel and oppressive - these are exceptions. The British Empire was 20% of the world population over 300 years and if fairly compared to other contemporary powers (that would have filled any void), it was overwhelmingly a force for good.

@thornbird6768 If any human activity is accepted by society, then by the acceptance the activity is promoted. If society was to stop prosecuting some shoplifters on the basis people needed to satisfy a natural urge to eat - then this activity would be promoted. I'm sure there are many people that believe society would be better if food in shops was free and many more would be easily enticed to help themselves.

Edward I was one of your 16 777 216 23rd Great Grandfathers - the other 16 777 215 of your 23rd Great Grandfathers would have been his subjects.

I don't mean every woman, but for years I worked as one of 2 men with around 30 women and I can tell you that, as a pack they never stopped joking about sex and tried to sexually embarrass every male that entered their domain.

Q: 'Who succeeded Henry the Eighth?' A: 'Henry the Seventh' LOL!

The term 'asylum seeker' is not very definite; in theory a person could be seeking asylum and have their application denied or accepted dealt with and then refused. The new regime will deter people from being in the system (legal aid/visa application/hotel/benefits etc.), because this means revealing their names and whereabouts for possible detention and deportation to Africa. So, the new (no passport) options are going underground in the UK or getting to Dublin to claim asylum there.

I couldn't work out what could be so popular about that expression - then I realised it's because 'P' sounds like 'pee' and that stuff comes out of our private parts... Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

What if someone was doing it their bedroom with your wife - would that be their business too?

@candy-le4nh Don't know why, because you are clearly the ignorant one. The country whose name is the point of contention is widely known as, Southern Ireland, Eire, Ireland and Republic of Ireland. There is overwhelming proof of this and you are clearly ignorant of this fact and have attempted to argue a contrary position. Whether some like it or not, when discussing the separate countries on the island of Ireland most English speaking people around the world use 'Southern Ireland' and 'Northern Ireland'.

We need to ban political parties then only allow ordinary folk to stand for election to parliament. The problem with this country is lawmakers are selected by political parties so they really serve political parties and only pretend to serve ordinary folk.

If we were to have an intelligent debate, we would end seeing that, the only beneficial place for sex is in a marriage. The overwhelming evidence shows that sex out side of marriage is harmful to the individual, family and society. It is not possible to give consent to an act which must affect other people and therefore consent is needed from society (marriage).
1
It's not possible to 'consent' to sex outside of marriage, because sex involves more than the individual. An individual person cannot consent to throwing a brick off the Eiffel Tower, on the grounds they thought it would not harm anyone. Sex outside of marriage causes harm to individuals, family and society which is why the individual needs the consent of society for sex.
