  3. If you get questioned about commiting a crime, the best course of action is to only tell police you're not going to say anything and you would like a lawyer. When you get a lawyer inform them you don't want to say anything to the police. If the police believe they have evidence to prove you have commited a crime, they will charge you. It's not in your interest to assist them in charging you. If they charge you - you can think about what evidence they have against you and decide your best way forward.
