Comments by "Iazzaboyce" (@Iazzaboyce) on "Liz Truss- "cease and desist" letter to Keir Starmer" video.
Usually, people don't bring this type of case to court, because if they fail to satisfy the judge the defendant did spread untruth, then they would likely have to pay the defendant's legal costs as well as their own. This makes me think Elon Musk is behind this...

When it comes to the economy and politics there's always a very complex argument on both sides. If this ends up in court we should learn more about what happened.

@EbenBransome You think Starmer will obey the cease and desist and stop telling lies about Liz Truss?
1
@EbenBransome Well, you are not necessarily an expert and not necessarily independent, which was the point of my original comment. A court case would give both sides the opportunity to produce and question actual expert evidence.

@EbenBransome It's a civil matter, so If the judge is persuaded it's more likely than not Liz Truss did not crash the UK economy - Keir Starmer loses.

@EbenBransome Have you written to Liz Truss and her legal team? Being an ex prime minister she probably needs advice from someone like you who thinks he knows everything. For your information; the court will be satisfied of the things you mention before allowing it to proceed. If it goes to court it will be for Starmer (if he wishes to contest the claim) to demonstrate what he said was true.

@EbenBransome My guess is Liz Truss has not sent this letter without taking expert legal advice and the letter will set out in clear terms that, if Starmer makes further public statements in relation to Liz Truss being responsible for damaging the UK economy then she will seek an injunction and damages.
