Saying 'UK independence isn't a success' is like complaining there are no good discos in Afghanistan. Lifelong pro-EU political activists like Starmer don't want to make the UK appear successful outside of the EU. They want the UK to fail outside of the EU- so they can have a message for their bus.

@Milominderbender586 If a general election exit poll can accurately predict the result then 34 million actual votes tells us how those that didn't vote on a binary issue would have voted. I can think of ten vote winning reasons not to join the EU and not one vote winning reason to join - what would you put on the side of a rejoin bus?

@Milominderbender586 Let's not give up UK democratic independence. Let's not pay even more politicians. Let's not give up the GB Pound. Let's not give £30 billion each year to Brussels. Let's not give EU citizens free access to NHS. Let's not give EU citizens free access to UK jobs. Let's not give EU citizens free access to UK social housing. Let's not give EU citizens free access to UK schools. Let's not be part of an EU army. Let's not crawl back to be humiliated.

@Milominderbender586 Go on then - what message would you put on the side of your bus?

@Milominderbender586 Of course immigration has soared under Brexit which is proof positive the Brexiteers have not been in charge...

@Milominderbender586 It's easy to use the word 'lie' isn't it? Why don't you actually cite a statement verbatim, attribute it to the Leave campaign and demonstrate with fact and reason how it is 'a lie'? We will use the accepted definition that, 'a lie' is a false statement made with intention to deceive. So, this is like put-up or shut-up time...
1
@Milominderbender586 Like I said, it's easy to use words like 'lie' and 'nonsense'....

@Milominderbender586 The £350m figure was not a lie, it's illegal for an official election campaign to state false information and Leave was not prevented from using it. The £350m p/w sum represented what the EU charged the UK for membership before rebate and EU-UK grants were deducted. On the rebate, this was not within the power of UK to retain and evidence showed the EU and pro-EU UK ministers wanted to end it. It is probable the EU would have ended the UK rebate. On the EU-UK grants, the referendum was about having independence to decide how UK money was to be used. Also, there were two sides and the Remain side was at liberty to contest the £350m sum, but chose not to, because most voters didn't want to pay anything to the EU. So, not a lie - the 'lie' was when the word 'extra' was used by pro-EU activists (including the UK Statistics Authority) in place of the word 'instead' actually used on the Leave campaign message. Also the matter was taken to court and the judge ruled there was no lie.

@Milominderbender586 I just explained how it wasn't a deception. It wasn't 'documented' it was 'propagandised' - saying it was a lie was a lie. Do you think the UK government stating the UK would never join the euro was 'honest' - how? It seems you would have preferred the Leave side to not say anything...
1
@Milominderbender586 Were you one of the 500 people on the 2024 national rejoin march?
1
I don't think anyone really wanted to be part of a federal Europe or someone would have objected to the UK government promise to never join the euro.
1
@Arthur_Pint Most of the Remain voters were duped which is why only 500 people attended the 2024 National Rejoin March. Probably fewer than 15% of the electorate really wanted Remain.
1
@NetZeroNo Did you know the pound is rated 5th most valuable currency with the euro rated 8th and US dollar 9th?
1
@NetZeroNo Well you might make stuff up, but I used a reputable source. Why don't you Google it?
1
Are you afraid the UK people will see it's possible to deport illegal immigrants?

If you look at the EU Tower of Babel poster the controllers have normal heads, the baby has a normal head and all the plebs have blockheads....
1
@davefave4351 Not sure you understand the Tory Party was/is controlled by pro-EU political activists - the clues being: Joining the UK to the EEC without referendum, supporting 'stay' in the 1975 referendum, joining the UK to the EU without referendum, supporting 'remain' in the 2016 referendum...
1
@davefave4351 The Tory Party called the referendum and campaigned to stay in the EU and end euroscepticism in the Tory Party. We left at midnight on 31 Jan 2021 because pro-EU activism in the House of Commons was defeated by the UK people with no possibility of reversing the 2016 result.
1
@davefave4351 Simple question for you: If the Brexiteers have been in power - why has immigration been so high? It's like arguing Greta Thunberg is responsible for all fossil fueled vehicles....
1
@davefave4351 What's preventing Keir and his landslide holding a join referendum? LOL!

Michelle, you're far far too intelligent to not know that it's means it is or it has so edit (change to its ) and I will delete this comment.

It was a few politicians that did all the damage. They were warned the British people would reject European federalism, but they imposed it thinking they could outwit the plebs. Half a century of wasted opportunities and hundreds of billions down the drain.

Scotland helped the UK gain independence - if it wasn't for Leave votes from Scotland and Northern Ireland we would have lost the referendum.
