  1. Some are claiming people in the UK are much worse off as a direct result of Brexit and use UK price increases to demonstrate this. However, independent analyses using actual wage/price data shows that, in 2016, UK cost of living (Europe) was higher (6) than France (10) and Germany (15) and in 2023, the UK cost of living (17) is lower than France (9) and Germany (14). This can only mean that, since voting to leave the EU, the UK has become an easier place to eke out a living and that, Brexit is likely a factor, as plainly, France and Germany have both remained in the EU.
