Could it just be about undermining the vote to leave the EU? Down the line they want to be able to say: 'Well, people believed Boris and we all found out later that Boris was proved to be a liar - didn't we?' The interesting thing for me is the invitations for this first 'party' were sent out by a highly educated lawyer with decades of Civil Service experience getting the UK deeper into the EU, and he wrote the words "bring your own booze" ... A suspicious minded person (like me) might think it's all been a 'remainer plot'.
