Those that returned to Southern Ireland had their names put on a secret government list preventing them from ever getting decent employment. When the existence of these lists was revealed, it was found the names of those who were killed in action had been included.

  19. @A Nicol I live in England and my votes have only counted when I voted tactically. Mostly, they have been thrown in the FPTP dustbin. Democracy, means not everyone gets what they voted for, but everyone gets what everyone voted for. I's not perfect but it's better than dictatorship. Scotland is 5.2 million people in a democratic political union of 65.5 million people. It would have even less say in a less democratic political union of 450 million people.

  22. Why is Scott Morrison trying to prevent a free movement trade deal between Australia and UK? Modern Australia was created by people from the UK going to live and work there and many Australians want to live and work in the UK... Sometimes people don't travel just to avoid responsibility.

  34.  @seankavanagh7625  Scotland would have around 10 MEPs in a EU parliament of around 700 MEPs. Scotland has 59 MPs of 650 MPs in UK parliament. I don't think any MEPs get 'listened to' - they just get told how to vote...

  36.  @seankavanagh7625  No MPs are disregarded in the UK parliament as all have the same vote. I don't want Scotland to leave the UK, because a majority of Scots (who are the level headed among ye) want to be part of the United Kingdom.

  37.  @seankavanagh7625  It's not possible to say people voted for anything other than what was on the ballot paper. The people of Scotland did not vote for Scottish independence from to UK and they did not vote to be in the EU with the rest of the UK out of the EU. It's not possible to know how another independence referendum would go, but because of Brexit 'the change' independence would bring will be much greater than in 2014. I see no reason to have another vote, because the Scottish people decided in 2014. It is disrespectful and undemocratic to disregard the majority (winners).

  46.  @hopeforbetter382  There is no authority higher than a majority in a UK referendum. The establishment is running scared of the electorate. All spent regimes cling to power and use their 'law' against the people. The quislings lied to the people in 2017, but will have to face the people sooner or later. When the general election comes they will be destroyed for good.
