What's 'bregsit'?

@michaelmouse4024 It's not possible for the EU to give a grant in the UK, because the UK has always given the EU this money. How about you give me £10 - I give you £5 - you tell everyone how generous I am... 'Ever get the feeling you've been cheated'

@michaelmouse4024 Give me your best reason why the UK should not be leaving the EU and I will prove why it is not a reason.

@michaelmouse4024 I respect that this is your take on the facts and what you anticipate might prove to be true. However, these things were known at the time of the referendum and Remain had ample opportunity to make those points, other points and to counter any points made by the Leave side. People on the Leave side also made various predictions and it is possible that in future these will prove correct. In the end, this was a democratic vote to decide whether the UK should continue as a member of the EU - a vote about the future. The people decided (under the rules of the referendum) that, the UK should leave the EU. The people had been promised by the government the result would be enacted. So, the reasons you have raised are not a reason why the UK should not now leave the EU. Democracy cannot operate if the losing side refuses to accept the result based upon opinion. Imagine, if we have a general election in which Labour wins a majority of MPs. How would it be, if Boris and his cabinet announced: 'Our experts have said Labour will wreck the economy, so we are not giving up power'. Would you agree the electorate should have to vote again?

@michaelmouse4024 That's how democracy works - the only thing stopping the Monster Raving Loony Party being in government is insufficient votes. Democracy does no dictate what is right or wrong - just what will be. This is why we don't have continuous referendums matters of fact like: What is '20% of 100?'. I see nothing wrong with the message on the bus or 'taking back control' these were legitimate arguments expressing the views of many. Yes, there may be bumps in the road, but this was presented as being a 'long-term' decision for the future. Most people understand that no one would ever do anything if we banned 'risk'.

@michaelmouse4024 This information might be correct. Personally, I have never seen any necessity to measure intelligence and I have never thought academia was a way to ascertain whether a person was more intelligent. I have always believed this idea that some are more able to decide things which affect all to be fundamentally discriminatory. My experience is that most people are better than most at some things and most things are required by most. The thing about democracy is that it includes all members of society and presumes each member of society to be equal. 'Ideologies' such as is the basis of the survey you cite, do indeed; make me think.
