I posted the following comment (unedited) five months ago: "There's a plan and it goes like this: Keep pushing false negative Brexit news and calling for a second (in/out) referendum (people's vote) thereby creating an impression (albeit false) that the nation has changed its mind. Then create impression that leaving Single Market and Customs Union is too risky and need to hold second referendum, not in/out as out would increase, but with the following question: 'The UK is ending its membership of the EU, should the UK remain part of the Single Market and Customs Union? Yes or No. This way they think they can appeal to status quo, ramp up project fear, get some (temporary) EU free movement concessions and throw in some IRA violence and con the British people into keeping the UK tethered to the EU. Thus maintaining the possibility of the UK being rejoined on a 'we have no say' ticket in the not too distant future. They know the British people want out of the EU and they know they have to leave, but they're trying to work it so the British people never break free."
