This is not the big deal Remoaners make it out to be and their arguments are based entirely on sophistry. Firstly, 'Trade' is not mentioned in the Good Friday Agreement, as both countries were members of the (same trading area) 'EEC/EU' prior to the Agreement. There's no reason why trade cannot operate without border stops, as all trade is documented and goods and documents can be checked at any point in transit. And secondly, people also carry documents and can pass without hindrance and be checked at any time, as 'free movement' post-Brexit does not need to allow a person to stay indefinitely or to work in the UK. Remoaners are essentially playing on fears of republican violence to further their anti-democratic cause. In reality, illegal traffic crosses into the UK in many ways and an unmanned post-Brexit NI border would not present an easier route.
