  2. Warren is faster on her feet and has more proposals that could possibly work. Bernie is not a socialist in the sense that he wants to get rid of capitalism ... he is not that. Bernie wants to introduce fair government regulation to some important industries where capitalism is problematic ... like health care.

  6. To me either Sanders or Warren would be great. Bernie is more consistent and he struck first and has a long history of being a Democratic Socialist ... but Warren has done more actual work, is faster on her feet and is a harder fighter. Bernie is more "authentic" ( hate that word ) but Warren is quicker mentally and more knowledgeable. I think either one would be transformative for the USA and help the people.

  10. 1) Yes Bipartisanship is necessary ... so, why are the Republicans 1000% NOT BIPARTISAN ? 2) Joe Biden was totally tone deaf to use the example of the worst racists in the US government during the Juneteenth Weekend. 3) Almost everything Joe Biden says is similarly tone deaf, and when confronted about it he either ignores it or says "message received", but then continues to make the same mistakes. Biden is a nice guy, but he is not a leader. He has not gotten much done in a lifetime term in government. He has made serious mistakes and instead of saying how he would be different in the future, he tries to ignore them. I just cannot support Biden for President when we have other so much better candidates. Finally, the big claim about Biden is that he is electable, but that is what they said about Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, and Al Gore, and though they almost won, they did not because of pushing marginal voters over to Republicans and turning off Democratic voters and lowering turnout.

When you look at this guy and Sandra Bland, Bland would have not been a threat for sure. But this video is hilarious in a sad kind of way. Glad the trooper played it cool.

"The Point" I think, is that people are different.  Some police officers are cool, some are on the job, and others are just powermad bullying jerks.  They got hired and they have the gun, so it's up to them how they want to behave.  It's great when they have a video camera on them, that makes a difference, but not in Sandra Bland's case, or too late.  It is up to the officer how he wants to respond.  And when they over-react all bets are of - just hope you live through it.

If it was real I'd love to send the cop a Christmas present or tip him for being such a great public servant. It's gotta be hard to put up with that kind of stuff and then be ready for any crazy of violent thing someone will do. Great job.

Silly, the only problem Bernie might have with guns is with the gun nuts and then their opposites on the Left, the anti-gun nuts.  Most of these people I hope would find Bernie's moderate position acceptable given the positions he has on other issues.  Most Americans believe in the 2nd amendment, and I find Bernie's position very reasonable looked at from either side.  I do not have a gun, never did, but I believe in the 2nd amendment.  However, there are a lot of unstable people that get guns - and that is a problem.  The real problem is that there is just not a good solution that satisfies both sides, and dumping either sides or overlooking either sides concerns is not possible either.  It's one of those issues that does not have a solution, so I think it is a wash, and Bernie is right.

  27. I am OK with her testing out the pollcy of prosecuting parents for truancy ... or talking about it. Something needs to be done, and as in life sometimes you have to do something to learn what you really need to do, or to gain experience to find out what you really need to do. I don't agree with that policy, at least I do no think I do, but I do not know what was learned or what was gained by it ... did it work, and what does working mean in this case? Kamala Harris says a lot of good stuff, and that stuff needs to be brought out and put front and center to the American people so they can expand their minds and their ideas of what is possible and what changes really need to happen. I am just skeptical that someone with even really great ideas, but not a history or an environment where they will succeed should be President ... but face it, anything is better than what we have today, and what we have today is oppression of the financial establishment, and that is the key issue. I like what AOC and others have said about having billionaires in our society, and taxing rich people more. This country is out of control and we have a virtual genocide against citizens going on ... and the cost of stopping it would be a small tax on people who will not feel it, and have so much they can corrupt the whole of society and buy off the government now ... give me a fucking break.

  30. The fact is that since the USA began doing business with Saudi Arabia, Saudi Arabia has tons more money and influence in the US than Israel. The amount of money that Saudi Arabia invests in the US is a classified US state secret. Why is that? Why is it so important that the American people cannot know how much money the Saudis have in our economy and what assets they have purchased that were American? Second point, Saudi Arabia in order to do business with American oil companies decreed that no oil company that they do business with should employ any Jews. Remember after 9/11 the Saudi representatives flew into Crawford Texas and demanded that no women be in the control tower when they were landing. That is just the Saudis, not any of the other Islamic or oil producing countries. The Saudis are the 3rd largest defense spenders in the world after the US and China ... the Saudis spend more on weapons than the Russians, and yet the Russians are the major threat to the US? The media, including this here and others on You-Tube is not reporting on this, they are all dancing together to misinform all of us.

  31. I don't know how you could conclude what person is better or worse, and who cares? What I care about is consistency over time, and focus on the issues. Bernie is great and has a long history behind him, but he is not so good on his feet in terms of debating and responding in real time. The two examples where his comment that he did not care about Hillary's damn emails, and then another time when asked about how he would pay for some of his programs he took the bait and tried to lay out his plan in a short TV interview. That can never work and the right-wing media slammed him for it. Warren is sharper and faster on her feet, but she also does some kind of weird things, like the native American thing and the beer. I don't care about any of that, either one of them is what this country needs ... maybe even both.

  34.  @Blake-ul8dd  Chomksy is a curious character. There was a time I read tons of Chomsky and learned a lot about propaganda, PR, corporations, and a lot more. But for me, slowly holes began to appear in his narrative and I began to see him as something else. In the 1960s battling with William F. Buckley Jr. and the fascist Right he seemed to have a point and a lot of his opinions held up. I don't think that is true any longer and I believe somewhere along the line he realized he had to make a living, and no one liked him and he was just being used by some of the uglier elements of the Left that were as bad as the far Right. Regarding thing like IQ I think he is mostly correct. I still don't think there is a valid definition of intelligence, at least in a scientific sense, and the field of Artificial Intelligence is mostly BS in terms of how it is explained or sold to the public. In terms of Israel, and American foreign relations I think he lives in a dream world. Just my opinion.

  36. 1/2 of 1% Wall St. speculation tax that Bernie is talking about - FIRST needs to be much more defined. Second, how can get this done? One half of one percent is 0.005, so if you sell your retirement stocks for a million dollars that is $5000. There needs to be some way to fold this into a tax plan for all Americans ... like adding it to the income tax, and fixing the income tax by taxing earned income and investment income at the same rate. Bill DeBlasio and I think Elizabeth Warren have been the only ones to say that so far. Then make the resulting tax rate dependent on income. So if you are poor, you pay no taxes, if you are middle class you pay something like we currently pay, maybe a little less considering the income from investment income increases, and then if you are rich you pay more and if you are Jeff Bezos or Bill Gates you pay on your highest income maybe 70% ... for anything over say $20 million. The oligarchs like the Koch Brothers will roll out the machine guns before they allow that to happen to them because they feel like the own the country and all of us too.

Go to Israel and tell us if there are Palestinians there. Go to Palestine and tell if Jews live there. If a Jew was in Palestine what would happen to them? Second, Bernie's proposals only offer optical and dental for seniors. If it happens, and I hope it does, it will begin with extending Medicare down to all, and it may even be gradual over time to ease the shock - which I think would be a bad compromise. You really do not understand the American political system as it is, nor the economic issues in this. The one way something better might occur is if Bernie or Warren were elected and they were elected and broadly supported with over 70% of the vote. Not impossible, but I am not sure if it's likely either. But the idea that a whole new program would be invented and put in place - is absolutely out of the question and not going to happen. I would bet any amount on that. If Medicare for all works and is accepted, and not removed like ObamaCare by subsequent Republican administrations, then a different sort of Universal Health care might be gradually moved towards, but never a big jump ... that is playhing with way too much money and too many lives.

What is the necessity for her to speak out on his issue, except for that she is defending Islam ... and then she has the nerve to talk about divided allegiances. Is she is talking about a general issue of lobbying, why focus on Israel unless she wants to make it about Jews. Also ... why not at least take a stab and objectivity and being fair and talk about the Islamic lobby as well ... how many lobbyists does Saudi Arabia have? Somehow the assumption is that whatever the Palestinians do is justified, but there is never a news story or deep dive explaining that? This lady is a total embarassment to the Democrats, and she will keep them from winning, and I would not even be surprised is her campaign was paid for by Republicans because she is helping Republicans out far more than she the Palestinians.

But they do think what Israel is doing is killing and wrong. Hamas obviously planned a premeditated murder, rape and destruction attack they would would land back on their own people, that is mass murder squared - plus blaming it all on US and Israel. I think the US has been patient and understanding for a long time when it comes to this kind of BS. I am done supporting any of these idiots, and now, sadly, that includes AOC. Poor Bernie Sanders who I used to support sold out to the murderous Islamic radicals - it's awful. If what Hamas did deserves punishment and justice, then how else does that justice get prosecuted?
