I thought we were here to listen to Cornell West answer questions, not to hear Anderson Cooper scold Dr. West for having the wrong opinion about Russia, Ukraine, Iraq, etc. The idea that Russia just destroys stuff for the fun or it, or is expanding or taking land from other countries can't really be supported. Russia has an outsized influence on countries bordering it, no doubt, and so does the US - but the US has encircled Russia and China and talked about war and shipped weapons and caused coups, etc. We're not really seeing that from Russia and China - are we? Not to mention both Russia and China are doing things for their people. More China, but in America the lives of the average people are almost being enslaved with the decreasing price of labor and the increasing price of food, rent, healthcare and education - and then there is the reverse of labor gains like child labor being brought back in America. This is why people are sick of the mainstream media - they all are pushing to support this same myth of America that just no longer seems to apply.

  2. IT IS NOT UKRAINIAN'S LAND ... there is land that people live in. About half the country is Russian heritage, speaks Russian and resented the coup and the harassment and discrimination that the Kiev government aimed at them - and the violent war. You cannot say Ukraine has to give up land when what it is really doing is genocide or ethnic cleansing of land that belongs to everyone where families had lived their for hundreds of years - and now Western Ukraine calls it all theirs and is ready to kill the people in the East. The answer to Ukraine was to partition the country - not to kill people with Russian heritage, and bolster Nazis for god sake Anderson.

Look at the history of Crimea .... it was never Ukrainian, and the fact that Kruschev rearranged the accounting for it in the 1950's does not mean that the West can use it to try to landlock Russia and deprive it of a naval seaport? A lot of war and nasty BS in the world happens because Americans are so stupid or disinterested in what is going on in the world. Crimea was never Ukrainian - like 90% of the people are Russian and speak Russian, and it is Russia's only warm water port. Just like they keep saying Ukraine had nuclear weapons. Those nukes were Russian and without tampering with them or taking them apart and rebuilding them - Ukraine could not have used them. The discussion about Ukraine in the West is insane, and has been for over a year while people are being killed and a country destroyed. End the war. Accept Russia in the world economy - we need an international community that can unify and fix global warming.
