  1. Mackey is a marketer, meaning a liar. What he means here and says to serve his own needs to lie is that Intellectuals do not like businessmen and salesmen ... but then who really does? By businessmen we mostly mean like the local used car dealers, not people who build great businessmen. For example, I hate Whole Food's Mackey because his whole business model is how to rip people off, but I love Jeff Bezos because his business model is how to make money while bringing huge value to people. Mackey is not a capitalist, he is a marketing schmuck. People cannot do everything in life, some choose to dedicate their lives to making money, and some like academics and science. People who make money, usually a lot of money mostly get there by finding ways to fool and cheat customers, or outright stealing. Over and over we see this. Whole Foods for a simple example in my town just down the street from Safeway charges about a 20% markup for the same item you might buy at Safeway. I don't really call that Capitalism, that is a trick business practice. If someone did not research and develop new technology, products and ways to run systems, business people would have nothing to do. The reason business people make more money than they should is a failure of the market, not due to the market! One thing is that Mackey is used to lying and dissembling, making this comment about Capitalism which it isn't, and ignoring that it is about business people, and not all business people. Intellectuals do not hate capitalism, in fact capitalism is the system everyone uses, it is the regulation of capitalism around what I said above that Mackey hates, because he is essentially a criminal who pretends to be a good citizen. As I said, Mackey is a schmuck!
