ReasonTV They do the same thing in Paris ... who would want to see the Eiffel Tower in the valley between huge skyscrapers. The height restriction makes a lot of sense in my opinion.

Better than having people living in their cars. I am against everything being corporatized and the corruption of the government by corporate power and money as much as the next guy, but this is on indirectly related to corporations, this is a political history thing about the land use in Washington, and every big successful city has something like this.

yoo toob The thing is that Peak Oil has not been determined. The idea of peak oil reminds me of the dishonest way the Laffer Curve has been used to push people to think of taxes in a certain way. It is very logical and reasonable, and certainly there is a finite amount of oil and at some point, most likely when we have greater demand we will have lesser supply, but that does not prove a coming disaster by any means. I exclude global warming here because that would be a non-linear factor thrown into the discussion which was never mentioned by ... what's his name, the Peak Oil guy? Another factor would be population, and technology. You just cannot predict the interplay of these forces.

Very beautifully done. When the public's space for survival has been destroyed or privatized, people are forced to move to the cities and more or less forced to enslave themselves for food and survival. The movement if properly managed, which it probably will not be, would be a great way to manage all these people and provide for them until they can integrate into the economy, otherwise they become either peasant serfs or turn to criminality. This kind of thing is such a pattern it can be predicted mathematically. Nice video.

Seeing you sitting there in the loft with the big skylight above it occurs to me to ask my it seems so few tiny house builders have a skylight that opens so they have access to their roof to use to get to solar panels or just to sit and sun if they want? In all the tiny houses I have looked at I have never really seen that done?

I have to admit to being happy that I do not live next door to a house clad in beer cans. As far as having a code to prevent that ... it would be a good idea, but not everywhere not all the time ... which is the problem.

jbibm81 You get less density with a tiny house per sq. ft. of land that if you build condos, apartments or townhouses, but you also save the land as well, and put people in their own place where I assume rent is less and they can be closer to their work.
