These numbers are pretty much ridiculous.
Why count the carbon created during construction of a nuclear powerplant?
The construction of the powerplant is building a path to large scale carbon free power.
There are tons of things about solar, like what about clouds, snow storms, dust storms, volcanos, nuclear war ... a heck of a time to have your power go out.
I think solar is great, but to be effective for people they need to have batteries.
Also, the scale of the power that is going to be needed to clean up and fix this planet is far beyond what we have today, and think of all the people in the 3rd world that want better lives? Also think of climate change and heating and cooling costs.
That can be done by either upping the cost of the houses we build at a time when resources are costly and scarce - and emit carbon, or we can give second life to most of the houses that were built when energy was so cheap no one insulted their houses. With nuclear we can get there eventually - and that is what is really needed abundant energy.. Energy to desalinate water and to pump it around the world to bring back nature and deserts. Energy to incinerate waste, to be able to recycle everything and close the loop completely on manufacturing. Energy to grow food hydroponically in cites close to people.
I don't think anyone is really thinking about this - they are all just throwing specious arguments out there to selfishly support their own industries, investments and lifestyles. Nuclear is the way to do and we should have been doing it for the last 20-40 years - it is insane that we have not - even with a few accidents. If we build more powerplants we can make them faster and cheaper and finally build an economy of scale.
