  2. I think you are wrong to attack Amazon. As a consumer and customer Amazon gives me value that I get from no other company. Just lately for example I am looking for a new mattress. I bought one from IKEA, and after me and my girlfriend testing it in the store 3 times, when we got it it was too hard and I had to return it. IKEA refuses to give me my money back - the insist on giving me a store credit that expires in a year. The law in CA says I should get my money back, but IKEA does not respect that. If I buy something on Amazon with Amazon Prime, I get a guarantee that Amazon has never cheated me on. They give me my money back, not a credit, and they have always treated me fairly. There are things that Amazon doesn't do perfectly, but in general they are always improving. Compare Amazon tablets with the iPad for example, or their media store to Apple iTunes ... Amazon is much much better. Also ... wake up you idiots ... when they say Bezos is the richest man in the world, that is by capitalization of stock. If he sold all his stock he would never get that amount of money. So many of these claims by my fellow Lefties may be well-intentioned, but they are full of BS. The real fights are not over Bezos or Gate, but over tax policy. Since Bezos is worth so much by virtue of having stock that he has not sold .... of course he does not have to pay taxes on that. This is more control of his company than money in the bank. 1/2 of the complaints of Liberals are misdirected like this. It is not that they are wrong, or have their hearts in the wrong place, they just do not understand the big picture, and so nothing will change because they are complaining about the wrong problem.

Start looking at the government-news-media-military as a cooperating monolith that is not going to allow itself to ever come under scrutiny or change based on outside influence ... in other words our system is not a democracy, it is not a representative democracy. It is basically almost the same structural institutions as WWII Fascist Germany without uncontrolled war and without the overt and public genocides. So, this system has learned not to offend the public and to even offer them a gentle insulated cabin on reality if they just work to pay their military taxes, and do not rock the boat, and eventually learn to lie down and die - without the government supporting or interfering in that.

  9. Hey morons ... The Great Barrington Declaration was a political and economic document - nothing to do with medical stuff. The Declaration was written from a global public health and humanitarian perspective, with special concerns about how the current COVID-19 strategies are forcing our children, the working class and the poor to carry the heaviest burden. The response to the pandemic in many countries around the world, focused on lockdowns, contact tracing and isolation, imposes enormous unnecessary health costs on people.

  20. When did Jimmy Dore turn into such a huge asshole? Like he is trusted or has integrity. When you look at the two most similar situations - Watergate and Trumpgate ... what is the difference? The difference is that Watergate had an honest guy on the inside of the FBI keeping the system honest ... Mark Felt / Deep Throat as he was called. The Mueller investigation was orchestrated and insulated with no leaks. Because there is no one on the inside of the FBI that is able to go public even if they wanted to, and even if they did the NSA would catch them and seal the breach. The structures of control have evolved hundreds of times faster than the public ability to look, comprehend and react especially when all the public has to look at any more is a single narrative imagined from differing points of view that use language that is slightly different for different audiences.

  22. What the hell does Oliver Stone think now ... the proof has been out there about what Russia has been doing. I used to deny it or question it and give Russia the benefit of the doubt ... but reading a lot of books on this hacking and fake-news shows that it is mostly Russia - not America. 100 journalists murdered, and killing defected Russians in other countries - why does Stone still defend Russia. I can understand not wanting to provoke war, but the same people are in power in Russia now as were in the Cold War. I don't like it, but the answer seems to be standing up to Russia.

  23.  @dankokovacevic  I hear the frustration and confusion in that post, but what is your point? I re-wrote my original post since it hardly made sense to be when I re-read it. I have followed Oliver Stone's books and documentaries, and found his Russian opinions, basically coherent and sensible, but Russia is very active in trying to bring down or sew discord in the West. I am not sure that is all about defensive measures. Russia would be a great ally to Europe and West if they would open up, or conversely if they would move politically towards real socialism and be a model country for their people. What keeps Russia from doing that has been the combination of powerful rich elites and attacks from outside. Now I try to listen more about Russia, because what we have been told in the USA is not right, but what Russia is saying is not right either.

  27. The problem is that Jimmy Dore is a very unsophisticated black and white thinker. He is putting out that the vaccine is either 100% or 0% in terms of infection and transmission. This is just not true. Think of the vaccine as a barrier to infection and transmission - but it was designed to prevent infections as much as possible. So ... you have to think of this as two variables - that are not just off or no, 0 or 1, black or white. You attack the individual problem with vaccination, that will do what can be done to prevent infection. Getting vaccinated makes Covid less series, less infection, less serious, less hospitalization, less intubation, less death, less long Covid. Getting vaccinated means that people around you will in general have less Covid, but will be less transmissible to you. Not 100% but less. I see this reality being misinterpreted and used to attack the vaccine ... and not to mention masks or lockdowns as well. Without the masks doing what they can do, and the lockdowns the US health care system would have very likely been either shut down or destroyed. The complexity of this model, is very easy to misinterpret, or to distort or lie about for some kind of negative attack purpose. I don't know why people would want to do this or they would be trying to pass misinformation around, but they do, and they do a lot. And it makes people worry and get frightened they might know understand the model, the scientific model of human disease. So, censorship about vaccine BS whatever you think about it, agree or disagree- there is at least a positive motive and logic behind it. The lockdown and the vaccine passport idea is also effective. What tends to work against all of this is American ignorance and paranoia - and lack of trust in institutions - and for good reason. I've heard people telling me because I got vaccinate and boosted that I would die within two years. Can you imagine that. BS! I've heard people saying the damage from the vaccine killed more people than Covid. More BS. We are a country so ignorant and untrusting that these kinds of blatant huge lies can thrive and expand. There are a lot of political and economic root causes of this dysfunction in our society I will try to expand on later.

But I will agree this was an extremely irritating and frustrating show to watch.  But Bill was right about voting for Hillary.  To me he said it in a very obnoxious way that made me pretty hate it in those moments, but let the man have his opinions.  It was hard, virtually impossible for me to give up on Bernie myself, but in the end he was not on the ballot and Hillary was and was one of two that had a chance.

  37. The arguments here are so confused and incoherent. First, Crimea is Russian, I grant that right off the bat. But, a video news report is not going to statistically show that. Even if you do show it with a massive poll, the West will discount it because they will say the people cannot speak freely. Then there is the whole what is Ukraine thing, and why was it formed with 2 radically different populations after the USSR? I support breaking Ukraine up along Ukrainian and Russian divisions - but these areas of Russia are a lot different from Chechnya and some others - Ukraine is the heart of Russia, where the empire began more or less. So this is even more than comparing apples to oranges, it is comparing apple to doorknobs. The best point here was the way Ukraine is putting people on kill lists, and lying, but the even greater point is how on class of Ukrainians is bringing death and destruction down on the whole country and thousands and thousands of people, and the US is supporting that and causing a mess all over the world - for something that should have easily been solved by Ukraine just letting these people have their land and country,

  39. I don't think this is a big deal. I support Bobby Kennedy in this election so far. I like what he has to say about ALMOST everything, but I am not sure about his vaccine stuff, or his claims about the lockdown. Those are minor issues to me though. I don't think ABC should have censored RFK's interview. On the other hand, this vaccine stuff is pretty big in that if a lot of people are convinced that vaccines that do work don't work ... we have a big problem - a problem that could kill people. If they think they are going to have to censor RFK about vaccines, then they should not have asked him about them. The way they did this was underhanded and designed to make RFK look bad, and shady. I don't think he is, I think he is a very cook slicing of issues that could bring together Left and Right - and that is super important to break the logjam of BS we have in our politics. This country is dying and has no vision except pro-billionaireism ... I think the Kennedy vision was halted with assassinations and close to FDR's vision and would be a great place to pick back up an American citizen agenda.
