  1. Love it. Don't necessarily feel bound by these rules, but I can appreciate Japanese tradition. Sometimes I like soy sauce, but I don't really like soy sauce on my sushi. I usually grab a seaweed roll and either swab or dab some wasabi on it and eat it with just wasabi. I usually save the ginger for the last and eat the whole giant wad at the end of the meal like desert. I just love sushi. My favorite sushi place, a Japanese place, closed down so, sadly, I don't eat much sushi any more.

  2.  @darcyperkins7041  Yeah, well I think beer works better for that. Just because the old guy is Japanese doesn't make him infallible. I mean - he said not to shake the soy sauce off the sushi, but who wants a big drop of soy sauce to drip onto their pants or shirt?  Sorry if that offends any Japanese, but I like the ginger for dessert at the end of my sushi meal.

  3.  @honk42069  I just don't see how that can be wrong. And I think it is bad manners to force people to follow a fake tradition. I would never eat ginger with my sushi myself, because it interferes with the great taste of the fish, which is primary for me - not because of someone rules. Ginger is like candy to me, so I eat it for dessert. I like the umami taste of the sushi and fish ... ginger and too much salt from soy sauce ruins that for me. I like ice in my red wine as well. I don't give a damn is that offends some sommelier, who is paying?

  4.  @darcyperkins7041  You seem to just be trolling to annoy. What an annoying comment ... infallible means infallible, it does not mean someone doesn't know what they are talking about. Don't tell me there is not too much soy sauce either ... maybe for you that is fine, I don't like any soy sauce on sushi because fish is salty enough as it is. Also, extra sodium is flat unhealthy, that's why a lot of Japanese have high blood pressure and heart disease now. And the guy just told him not to shake ... you are wrong on everything you said, so just be on your way and go annoy someone else.
