  1. steel is an expensive component ... how much does it cost to put this all over a country like the US? How many millions of tons of steel to do this all over the US? How much do steel prices rise for everyone else? Mow much more expensive is this than regular roads? Then, highway porosity is not the only problem with drainage, there needs to be somewhere for the water to flow to. It's not automatically going to stay dry if there are low places where water collects now, right?
