It is not that I disagree with Bernie here. Being and engineer and having worked in the IT industry all my life, there is no way that the clock can be turned back. If the government isn't listening, then someone or some thing else will be listening. If we had some examples of this working to do something that benefitted the public, but all we really get are implications and claims. Public policy has lagged because almost no one really understands what is going on what is being done. The government does not want to let on as to what it does in order to not tip off the criminals so they can avoid detection, but the biggest corporations and the biggest most expensive crimes are not detected, nor are they punished, and if they are - they punishments are a joke. This is being used by the bad guys, not to get the bad guys - because there is so much data, if it was being used to help people we would be seeing a big improvement in life - but we are not!
