3:10 - Phillip Terry died when a forklift fell on him ... Amazon is not the only company that has industrial accidents ... in fact Amazon is more modern and safe than most of American industry. The worker condition and treatment criticisms against Amazon are valid, and I am glad that at least the EU does something about this.

Bernie should not make simplistic statements like this. Bezos net worth is computed by taking what they think is the number of shares of Amazon that he owns and multiplying it by the current price of Amazon stock. That is a false number that he could never get in reality because as soon as he started to sell some of the stock its price would fall because he would overload the market. I am a great fan and supporter of Bernie Sanders, but making these kinds of videos does not teach people anything or really even tell the truth. It is a kind of demagogue statement that panders to the stupid, and Bernie should not be pandering to the stupid. There are plenty of smart people that understand and agree with what Bernie wants to do. That said, it is desirable that every company pay its employees a living wage, and if they cannot afford to do that, then corporate profits should be taxes to give workers any tax break they need to support a living wage. People are more important than money, money is not speech, corporations are not people.

At least Amazon provides great service and a good value for millions.

Troll ... Bernie is not going to burn anything down, he is merely going to try to make things more fair for us non-billionaires ... the ones of us that are not idiots like nat sneeze

Pi, whether I agree or you agree or whatever, the system works the way it works. Motivating people to change it is what this video is supposedly trying to do ... and I'm just saying this nonsense doesn't describe the real problem very well, or help with that. It just appeals to people's jealousy. I think there should be a maximum wage, and anything over that should be sucked up in taxes. The world does not need billionaire bandits ... but as billionaires go, Bezos has created something much better than most. Compared with WalMart, Amazon is much better. Also, the numbers they throw around are not like this sum is in Bezos personal bank account, it is the nominal value of Amazon stock if he sold it all right now at the quoted price - which would NEVER happen.

And with an idiot like Trump in office who seeks to bash Amazon - OF COURSE Amazon is going to have to put money into lobbying. Trump's idiotic claim that Amazon is somehow abusing the post office because they do business with the Post Office ... that is on the orange idiot Trump, nothing bad about Amazon. Amazon should pay all employees a decent wage, and also I am against monitoring employees every second they are working and tracking them ... that is slavery. But that is where our country is ... and it is not Amazon that is doing that. If we want that to stop we need worker rights and people need to vote. Vote smart, do not comment dumb!

If that is true, it is wrong and not only needs to be stopped, but the people responsible for those policies need to be fired. The problem is that it is no longer possible to determine if things are true any more, and I am not sure I believe that.

I disagree, Bernie is not a demagogue, and I doubt he OK'ed this video. I don't like it and I think it is not helpful. It definitely would be better to re-unionize the USA, but at this point is globalization I am not sure that would help or would be possible. Something new has to happen, and just slamming Jeff Bezos for Amazon stock rising isn't it, in my opinion. What should happen in the US is that every large company in addition to unions should have a certain percentage of workers represented in the board of directors, so they have a say, and they know what is going on.

I agree with the video myself, I just think the point was not made very well, but it is hard to sympathize with Bezos. Maybe this is the only way to reach people?

Not a chance Disntropic, it is a well-known fact that when a huge block of shares of ANY COMPANY goes on the market the price will plummet.

Hey lab ... I did not say I was against people getting paid better, but the Amazon employees I know ( do you actually know any ) get paid well. Don't give me a fucking lecture about priorities because Amazon is a good company compared to the hundreds or thousands of companies that are not. I am a big Bernie supporter, contributed in the hundreds of dollars to his campaign, I think he could have picked a much better company to go after than Amazon. Also, those numbers are based on stock price, and that means they are totally meaningless and fictitious.

Dalton ... you are so un-articulate. no wonder you don't get paid well. Do you actually have a point or you just want to sound as stupid as possible.
1
Boofyre ... what are you talking about?
1
Matrix ... Amazon could and should do better, but right now is probably not the time with the idiot President of the Orange Universe threatening it. I am a total Bernie supporter, but this kind of video borders on pandering as bad as Trump .... Bezos's net worth is based on stock price, as if he sold every share that he owns right now at the current stock price ... which would be impossible. At some point Bernie is going to get called on this kind of comment and it is not going to look good.

no pe, are you kidding, is that the level of your political discourse ... calling people idiots and swearing? You make Bernie look bad.
1
You people are idiots ... I am sure someone is paying you to be idiots and make Bernie look bad, but what you are saying is utter nonsense.
