Parity, every budget agreement has required an equal amount of money spent between military and social programs.  Republicans want to spend 180 billion more on military.  So 180 billion must be spent on the needs of the middle class.  What Bernie doesn't say is that the military budget goes to interests that support Republicans ... some might call this corruption. When you think about this, it is not enough and eventually not going to work.  When we spend money for government programs deliberately sabotaged by Republicans it is not the same outcome and giving defense contractors and the military money and having that money go to an elite 0.01% who then funnel it back to right-wing think tanks and campaign contributions to destroy social programs.  If this happens things get worse every year until they eventually collapse. For a better undestanding of these dynamics read the Thomas Frank book "The Wrecking Crew" and understand what Americans are up against.

Bernie and people - you have to remember that the motto of the extremist libertarian Republicans that now own and control this country - it is "all taxation is theft", and they refuse to do anything for people just because they are people. Read Thomas Franks the Wrecking Crew to really understand the genocidal intent of these people and their special psychotic hatred for us and government. As Noam Chomsky has often claimed from them "all for ourselves, nothing for anyone else", they mean to have it all, and they pretty much do now, and they do not care if they have to use violence, lie, cheat or steal, that is they way they think the world should work and it is a waste of time trying to help or save the weak.

  3. The people have to care about themselves enough to end this reign of corruption, that means they need to wake up, learn what is going on and do something, even if it just vote.
